Hi community, some time on from my last update we'd love to share further developments in this space with you here.

Since the rollout of our new Files inbox experience, our product teams are continue to enhance and grow out it's functionality across Xero.

For UK organisations we recently launched Smart document capture with intentions of rolling this out to all other regions soon. With Smart document capture Xero will automatically create documents for you to review from within Xero Files. So, while a contact will be required Xero will do a lot of the manual work for you and ensure the file remains attached to the created invoice 🙂

On the flip side we also have a team that is currently exploring how we might solve for wider needs around invoice details that are captured outside Xero and how to gets these in and automate the workflow for you.…

@Kelly Munro - not following, is this working yet? We are just reviewing a VAT return and cannot see any Sales invoices attached.

Hi Yaakov, appreciate it's taken me a while to get back to you here and thank you for the additional detail and I have taken a look into your interactions with our Xero Support team.

Understand that you'd like an option to have a standard option when creating report templates to select a Balance Sheet that has all groups listing each account rather than showing totals as a default. While it's not in our immediate plans, like you've noted right now it is possible to Edit the layout of the report template to deselect the Total option for each grouping and Save the layout.

We'll keep your idea here open to get a sense of interest from others in this, and I will share if there is any update around this for you here.

No, I was just trying to understand who on earth would want a summarised Balance Sheet (ie headline only version) Adviser reports in Xero HQ!

It is really frustrating that this Balance Sheet has been grouped.

It takes a lot of work to edit and ungroup all the dozens and dozens of groups to get the accounts to display on the BS like the regular BS on blue Xero!!

Yes, I realise that the funcitionality on the new Syft app far outdoes these Adviser packs but nevertheless there is no reason imo why Xero cannot correct this as I still use them.

Or is it just another example of Xero ignoring accountants for the majority of its customer base - laymen and beginners?

    Kelly

Thanks but did you look at the image? I spoke to the Support team already about this.

I am fairly certain you cannot add a customised report to HQ - see attached image of what I am talking about.

    Thanks Jessica.

(No idea how to get this to gain traction and I've always wondered how Xero prioritise the 5,000+ product ideas!)

Created date and Created by - I forgot to mention below that these two columns in QBO are also fabulous.

    One day maybe...

I would love to see an enhancement to the Account

Transactions report that includes two additional columns:

    • Last Modified Date (date and time of last change)

    • Last Modified By (user who made the change)

This would significantly improve audit trail reporting by providing greater transparency, similar to what *QuickBooks* offers.

Having visibility into when and by whom transactions were modified is crucial for tracking adjustments, ensuring accountability, and maintaining financial integrity across teams.

I believe this addition would be valuable to many Xero users who rely on detailed audit tracking for compliance and internal controls. I’d appreciate your consideration of this request and look forward to any updates regarding its feasibility.

Hi community, thanks so much for all the interest we received. The teams interview spots filled up quickly and they are now fully booked.

Apologies if you didn't manage to sign up to one of the interviews — We really appreciate your enthusiasm and may reopen the link for future research rounds. We will make sure to update here if there's more opportunity.

We will be back to share outcomes from the teams exploration.

    Interesting history to this message.

    Posted Jan 19, 2014.

Comment by Admin on Mar 27, 2022 (BTW, where is that comment?)

Second comment by Admin Dec 17,2023: "we'd like to get a clearer understanding of demand for this feature".

So basically, 557 votes and lots and lots of comments , including 50 since the last Admin response and you are still none the wiser, not sure about the demand?

Come on Xero! Prove that your customers or more important than losing out to competitors.

And in case no one understands this, see Stuart Clough's comment below:

Hi community, thanks for sharing the challenges you face around deleting invoices.

Right now in Xero, invoices with a Draft status can be deleted in bulk from the list view - simply select the invoices and you’ll see an option to Delete at the top of the list.

We understand that for many in the thread here you’re referring to the ability to bulk remove invoices that have an approved status(bulk void) and I have just updated the title of this idea to better reflect this.

This isn’t a feature we have planned at this stage, but maybe something we explore longer term as a possible enhancement to the list view. For the time being, while not within the product for those with more technical resources there’s capability via our API that you may like to consider.

    Hi all,

Ok so big disclaimer but there is an app called G-ACCON I tried a few years ago, which seems to be going strong and growing since I last used it (based it on its pricing and youtube page), which does BULK VOIDing.

The app does much more, such as Bulk tracking category option imports and Audit trail reporting, to name a couple.

Only snag is that you need to get used to the Enquiry boxes in Google sheets and its terminology to get Xero to do what you want it to do (and should already be doing!!)

There is free trial version, so you can try it before subscribing.

    Website is here

    https://www.accon.services/gacconforxero.html

And the youtube video on Bulk Voiding invoices is here.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHNQDikkWoE

I haven't tried this myself, but would be interested in hearing how others fare.
