Hi team, while we don't have immediate plans to change the placement of buttons on new invoicing we're interested in staying close to this feedback and I'll move the idea to Under review for the time being. We'll return to confirm any outcomes.

Agree - the flow of the classic version makes more senses. You review all your line items and at the end you Save or Approve your invoice. Going all the way back to the top to Approve an invoice it's not practical when you have 50-60 lines on your invoice. Or at least, the top panel where the Approve button is should be freeze, then we don't need to move all the way back up.

Also, can we just have the "Approve" button like in the classic version. This is more useful than the "Approve and email" button.

Agree - possibly it might be useful for some others but definitely not me. Why would you save a change to the invoice when you have not reviewed it yet. This action should initiated by the user not the system.

Thanks to everyone that participated in and shared back on the team’s research in the new invoicing layout. Taking your feedback on board our teams have made some improvements to the layout of new invoicing, including changes to the layout of fields and buttons.
By rearranging and condensing space between fields, you’ll find there is less white space than previously shown, making it easier to navigate and tab through fields when entering your invoices.

We’re actively looking into changes within the invoicing grid that’ll go further to condensing information on the screen and reducing actions when entering your invoices. We’ll update as there is more information to share on this.

Hi team, now in 2025 and many here will have received our recent communication leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing on 27 Feb this year.

We’re continuing to work hard on delivering more features within new invoicing that’ll help most in your workflow.

Thanks for staying engaged with us on changes that’ll help you through the idea here.

To give an update on recent deliveries that positively impact some of you that have shared on the idea here. Late last year we released improvements to the issue and due date fields so you can now use all the date entry shortcuts that were available in classic, and we made it simpler to access the date picker. We also updated the Files attachment modal so you can now drag & drop files anywhere on the page, and when you use tracked inventory you can see the number of items…

Totally agree - the classic version is much better and faster than the new version in terms of all functionality.
Tried the new invoicing version, it took so long for it to load even with a couple of line items. Tried every month but see no improvement in this area. This is so inefficient and time wasting when you have so many invoices to raise each day.
Also, in the editing screen, you can't even see the full name of the GL Account, only the first 17 characters are showing. I even tried to zoom out of my browser, it still doesn't work. It's not user-friendly at all if you have to click on each GL code to review their full name for each line when you have 40-50 lines to review on the invoice. You also need to scroll horizontally to view all the invoice fields - again not user-friendly at all.
Besides that, the new auto-save function added maybe it's useful for some users. But, it would be great if we can choose to use that function or not. I'd prefer to make the changes and review the changes before clicking Save as draft.
I really hope the the classic version can stay. Or at least it should be extended to the point where all these issues have been resolved before you roll-out the new invoicing function. It's definitely worth for the product team to sit down and actually test out on the functions before they launch it.

Hi Olga, really appreciate all the detail in your steps and the screenshots you provided.

I tried testing this myself with a Chrome browser and did get the same errors and behaviour you described, so have raised this with our product team. I'll keep you updated of any information I get back from them on this, here.
