Thanks for sharing your idea about making this change to prevent accidental (or unauthorised) changes to the sales prices on invoices.
Now it's up to the community to get behind and support your idea. You might like to share your idea with any colleagues that this could also benefit, so they can add their votes and comments too!

Hi community, thanks for continuing to support this idea and share the situations where it matters most to your business.
We’re now rolling out backorders for tracked inventory, that enables you to keep selling and invoice customers even when you don’t currently have enough stock on hand.
When this becomes available in your organisation, you’ll be able to approve a sales invoice for tracked items even where there isn’t enough available quantity to fully supply it. Xero will allocate any stock that's available straight away, place the remainder on backorder, and then automatically allocate incoming stock to those outstanding backorders as inventory increases.
We’ll continue to monitor feedback as this rolls out more broadly, and I’ll return to share another update once the release is complete.

Do you have a likely timescale on this please as we are holding out for it but may need to move to another system if the timeline is too long? Thanks.

265 votesHi team, we appreciate all the feedback this idea has received over time. With our reimagined navigation this is something our product teams considered closely, however there is a bit of work involved to achieve what's being asked and we want to be open it's not in the roadmap right now. However, we're keeping a pulse on the feedback here and will be sure to share if there's any progress. Thanks

Hi everyone, I want to assure you your voice is heard here and feedback is being shared back with our product teams.
We understand the desire to get this idea moving along and as mentioned in our last update we know this is an area that more controls and permissions would be most beneficial to our customers.
We’d like to share progress that we’re making for banking permissions - Work to provide more controls of sensitive banking information has started and will initially include the ability to restrict users from seeing sensitive banking information such as; account balances, bank transactions, and financial summaries.
We know this doesn’t relieve all pain points of this idea - It’ll be the first phase, a stepping stone of sorts in the development of per-bank controls.
As development continues we’ll share further updates as soon as they’re available with you all here.
Thank you for…

I would suggest that the description also be locked on inventory items so they can not be altered (other than in products & services) so that the save in a standard format.
