Hi everyone, this idea has been created to track NZ user interest in this feature.
It has been split from the original request here, as our Payroll features are generally developed separately for each region.
Being upfront we don't have any plans for this at present, however it is something we would like to understand the wider interest from our community in.
For now we will keep an eye on the support for this feature in NZ Payroll, and will share if there are any updates.

Hi everyone, thank you for sharing your feedback and adding your support to this idea.
Having a clear history trail for edits and approvals in timesheets is valuable for managing payroll accuracy. This is something our product team is aware of, and while it isn’t on our current roadmap, it is something we want to look at in the future.
We appreciate you keeping this top of mind for us. We'll continue to track community votes and comments on this thread and will update you here as soon as anything changes.

Hi there, as part of our ongoing review process, we’re in the process of updating our idea statuses to better track Xero Product Ideas.
We’ve taken another look at this idea. Whilst we can see the value for payroll administrators to be able to view the payslip in PDF from within the Employee’s record, this update doesn’t currently fit into our product team’s road map. We’ll move this idea to a status of Accepted and will continue to review this in future planning.

Thank you for your feedback on this idea. To account for differing regulations and payroll features across regions we’ve split this idea into separate threads for AU, NZ, and UK.
We also wanted to highlight a related feature recently delivered: Payroll admins can now see an estimated leave balance when adding or approving future leave requests. The workflow prompts you if a request might result in a negative balance.
That said, we recognise there is a gap regarding the ability to set hard limits on how far negative a balance can go. While we understand how useful this control would be, setting specific negative leave limits is not on our immediate roadmap.
We’ll continue to monitor interest here and update this post if there is movement.

I fully support having effective dating. Xero's current system of having to make changes before the next pay cycle is archaic and most certainly not best practice.
Currently we use Clockify (www.clockify.me) for our few employees. It's a free tool "used by millions" and it fabulous.
I was considering using the built-in option within Xero but not without an audit tool.
