Invoicing - Remember default settings
New Invoicing should be the same as the classic in that it remembers default settings for emailing like sending yourself a copy and attaching files. Until this is resolved do not discontinue the classic invoicing setup.
It's going to be very frustrating otherwise :)412 votesThanks for your continued engagement with us through this idea, team. As mentioned in my last update this idea spans different areas that you see defaults automating and improving efficiencies in how you invoice with Xero.
Since my last update, we've released some keyboard shortcuts to help with navigation and entry in some areas of invoicing, and we delivered the ability to invoice to your contact groups within the new experience.
As mentioned while we don't have plans for changing the behaviour of the select options when sending an invoice, these are driven by your last selection, using web browser settings.
Recently, we made a slight change to the way defaults are applied when you copy and invoice for a contact. So, now when you copy and invoice to the same contact defaults from their contact will be applied to the draft invoice, which aligns with the way this worked…

Short-term cash flow, mix invoices with projections
When viewing the 90-day short-term cash flow projection, payments from our on-site shop show 90 days of predicted income. However, for customers with existing invoices in the system, only those invoices are displayed.
The issue arises when customers have only 30 or 60 days of invoices, causing a drop-off in the cash projection after 60 days.
Proposed Solution:
- Combine existing invoices in Xero with predictions for future invoices.
- Automatically remove these predictions when an actual invoice is entered into the system.

Invoicing | Tracking - don't override with contact default when copying invoice
Kelly, the procedure to copy an invoice was improved, but it is still erroneous. We have tracking category (department) recorded in customer's settings. But for some customers we issue invoices with the other department tracking category.
New invoicing does not copy that "other" category. When the invoice is copied, all customer's default settings applied to it. In my particular case, it is wrong. I do not want customer's default tracking category; I want a copy of the INVOICE with the correct tracking category. In short, the new invoice is to be an EXACT copy.
Classic invoicing did not have this…

New invoicing - Use '.' as separators in the date field
New invoicing - ability to type "." between numbers (like you can in bills) i.e 24.6 then becomes 24 June after you press Tab.
Right now it only seems to accept 24/6, but I'm sure you used to be able to type 24.6 Tab and then it would convert to the date. If you use "." now, it will default to todays date
21 votesUnderstand our customers have different habits when entering dates, Emily. Atm you can use '-' or '/' to separate n umbers in your dates, however as you've found '.' isn't an option. We'll begin gathering interest in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates planned.

Invoice - Show credit applied on PDF of invoice
Display the Credit Note/s applied to an invoice and payments made by date on a PDF document. Why is it that we can view these in the system but we cannot see this when printing invoices.
It would be so helpful to have this for clients to view exactly what they have paid and exactly what credit notes have been applied to an invoice. If it is already on the systems for us to see, is it that hard to reflect this on the printed /emailed versions of invoices?
please address this Xero!

Invoicing - Add Expected Invoice Payment Date within Invoice
Can no longer add an expected payment date when viewing an invoice, you now have to go to the 'awaiting payment' section of invoices. Meaning more steps involved and lost functionality.

Invoicing - Remove Automatic filling of 0.00 in the price on invoices and quotes (or allow to auto-overwrite)
This bug fix request is further outlined in community discussions, but doesn't appear to be raised as a feature request / fix.
Xero has started pre-filling the price field (after the quantity field) with 0.00, which remains (not over-written), such that entering the price comes after the 0.00 (eg entering 50.00 becomes 0.0050 - then have to either swipe over the price or click into it x5 and re-enter.
Used to be able to <tab> enter <tab> enter <tab> etc, now have to use mouse which is slow and/or errors4 votesThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea's. We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve Xero for you.
Your feedback will soon be reviewed by our Community team, and in the meantime this can begin to build support with votes from other community members.

Email template - Fully customise
The email template, for example sales invoice, controls most of the email body but not all of it. If the email template starts "Hi [Client]" for example, the actual email generated automatically adds content before this, namely a logo, company name, amount and due date. I would like to be able to control this content as well, but it seems unchangeable. In contrast, the invoice template allows full control so you can apply various branding. Please can you open up all the email content to be controlled by the template.

New invoicing - Page loading slow
New invoicing...Very slow page load speeds to both open/create a new invoice on the new invoicing platform...and also to add a payment.
Current wait time is 15-20 seconds per page load.
Ive cleared cache and cookies to no avail
I have uploaded some shorts on you tube for you to see the problem.
39 votesAppreciate the short videos and can see what you're saying, Chris - Have you raised a case with our Xero Support team about the slowness in loading?
Actual slowness in the page loading are issues that we'd like to dig into deeper as they aren't occurring for all users so it'd be good to be able to investigate one on one with our Xero Support team who can escalate if needed. Thanks

New invoicing | Send - Remove invoice amount from email
Please remove the invoice amount from the "New Invoicing"
This should be optional for set templates like the classic invoicing where you could turn it off and on. It doesn't look great and prefer the older layout of the emails where you could control the layout more.

Repeating Invoices - Ability to bulk update repeating invoices
Repeating Invoices - Ability to bulk update repeating invoices.
We provide a subscription service which some of the 470+ customers have been using for years.
At times we make changes to T&Cs, the wording, rates, payment services etc. and it would be extremely times shaving if we could do bulk changes i.e. change the Item, Due Date, Reference, Payment Services etc, without having to go into each repeating invoice individually.

Customer Statement - Total payments
Customer statements - will Xero enable the functionality to present payments received by customers as 1 line item? We want to see the total payment amount on the statement - not allocated to each invoice as it is currently.

Bills - Highlight bills due to be paid by Direct Debit
It would be great to have a Direct Debit flag on the Bills area. Especially on the ones waiting payment.
That would allow us to know if a bill that is waiting payment is Direct Debit and we don't need to act, just wait to reconcile.
I created a (terrible) mockup and attached it.71 votes -
New Invoicing - Allow us to have Negative quantities on invoice
In the Classic Invoicing, we could set a negative item amount which was useful to make it clear to clients that we had refunded something. It also corrected the stock levels in the inventory. In new Invoicing, you can set a negative financial amount but you are not allowed negative quantities, as such it is not clear and it messes up the stock inventory levels. You can do it via credit notes but this requires more things to be issued to clients etc.

Batch payments - Ability to include credit notes
Allow the inclusion of Credit Notes in Batch Payments where the total to be paid to a supplier is still positive. This would allow a single batch for a Supplier to match their Statement, particularly where credit notes are not related to specific Bills.
828 votesHi everyone, we appreciate wanting to hear from us on this idea and apologies for not commenting sooner. I can assure you this has not gone unnoticed and internally there have been reviews and discussions for how batch payments can be improved. We have the appetite, but as with all developments this must be weighed up and considered against many other important changes needed in product.
We want to be upfront that developing the ability to include Credit notes in Batch payments has not been planned at this stage.
As some may have seen, we do have work going on around being able to include Credit Notes as part of the reconciliation process. We understand for many on this idea the timing of including credit notes when you’re creating the batch payments is crucial, however we hope that when delivered at least being able to reconcile these more efficiently…

Bills - Add 'Upload bills' to Dashboard.
Add the 'Upload bills' feature as a widget on the Dashboard, for convenience.
At present you have to navigate to 'Bills to pay', then from the 'New bill' dropdown, select 'Upload bills'. It's a great time saving feature, but seems tucked away, and would be great if right from the dashboard I could just drop bills, and invoices, ready to process later.11 votes -
Invoicing - Remove credit card logos from invoice PDF
For businesses that only leverage ACH bank transfers as a form of payment, allow users the ability to remove all credit card logos from the invoice. It's not currently possible to remove the Visa and Mastercard logos from your invoices, when using Stripe as a payment service.

e-invoicing Germany
From 1st January 2025 businesses in Germany must be able to receive e-invoices and this function does not exist in the Global edition we use for our German clients.
We need this functionality setting up as a matter of urgency.
34 votesThanks for raising the idea with us. Our team are aware of the mandate of eInvoicing for Germany. While we don't have immediate work planned at this stage our plan is to support any Peppol-enabled region in the long term and we are paying close attention to the interest from users on this idea. We'll be sure to update of any progress surrounding this for you, here.
The mandate currently states "The new legal regulation currently contains no specifications for the electronic transmission of electronic invoices. An email inbox should therefore initially be sufficient to receive an electronic invoice."
Based on this, currently with Xero an eInvoice could be received by using our Email to bills service, or by including the invoice as an attachment and sending to your organisation's Files library. On agreement with your suppliers you could share your bills, or files library email with them so…

New Invoicing - Edit item code without changing Description, qty or price
When copying an invoice, we need to be able to copy and paste in the item code without it deleting all of the description, qty and cost.
You can do this in classic invoicing, but when you do it in the updated invoicing it removes all the data on the line.12 votes
