  1. Hi Xero Support,

    So basically, I would like to generate P&L by Tracking Category only for those categories which have activity during the month, those which have no activities (zero transaction), I would like to exclude it. So, my reports will be not too long and comprehensive.

    Hi Budi, perhaps related to how you've set the report up however this is already possible with the 'Compare tracking categories' selection. For example if you select 10 tracking options to compare in your Profit & Loss and there is no activity for 2 of your tracking options within the period these columns will be excluded when the report is run.

  2. We require a bridging letter to the SOC Type 2 report to cover the period 1 November 2023 to 30 June 2024 for audit purposes. When querying Support I was referred back to the generic link to download the above report. How do I obtain a bridging letter for the remaining period?

    Sorry we've not updated you here sooner, Alison. Since you initially started the idea here we've published an updated SOC2 report that supersedes the period you mentioned. If you need any further help with this, I'd recommend coming back into our Xero Support team they should be able to help you further. 😊

  5. It would be fantastic to have the ability to add a web link or QR code to a Googe review page or other external link (website, facebook etc).
    When an invoice or receipt of payment is sent it would be great to follow this up asking for client to give feedback on service provided or to have them follow along on social media etc.

  6. When filling the GST to ATO through Xero and selecting to Lodge and save bill as draft, I can't find any billing information in the draft bill (nor approved bill) .I don't know where to pay this bill, I need the billing details which have not transferred with the bill.
    I have to do this manually, save the pdf to desktop then attach to draft bill (do it the old way like 20 years ago)???
    This should not be a new idea. It should be a minimum to have a draft bill with the related bill attachment.

    Hi there, when lodging directly through Xero, payment details are displayed at the top of the statement page once it's been lodged, including various payment options such as Bpay, credit card, and others.

    Please note that these payment details are only available when you are connected to the ATO in Xero and lodging directly through the platform. This is because the payment details are provided directly by the ATO and are specific to your entity. 

  7. We use Products and Services for parts that we buy in as well as what we make and sell and it would be great to have the ability to attach documents just like with invoicing so that original quotes may be attached for future convenient reference.

  8. Accountants need to to be able to amend the account to which an invoice or one of the lines on it is allocated, as we can with the edit function in Classic Invoicing. We also need to be able to edit the Tracking Category of an invoice or line on the invoice. This is vital for our organisation and likely to be so for others businesses where invoices and bills are booked by financial staff and checked by Accountants. The ability to copy a previous invoice is also used all the time and saves a huge amount of time. Also…

    Appreciate your idea here, Michael. While it won't be possible to retain Classic invoicing, it is possible to Edit, Copy and Void in New Invoicing.


    That said, a couple of the Copy to options (to a purchase order or bill) are planned for new invoicing but aren't there quite yet. You can stay updated on these through the ideas I've linked.

    Hi Nicholas, it doesn't look like you've been in touch with our specialists at Xero Support before?

    While you'll need to raise a case through Xero Central, if you feel a call would best help to resolve your question let the team know and they are usually happy to arrange this at a time that suits you.

    Having your support interactions recorded through your My Cases on Xero Central means you can always look back at your correspondence with the team at a later date, which can be quite handy if you ever run into the same scenario again. It also allows you to share or set up screen meets with the team to get better detail of any issues, and the team can share links to resources that you can access anytime.

  10. It would be beneficial to be able to edit transactions via Xero Expenses.

    I find if a client has approved something to the wrong code you have to remove the whole transaction and redo it. In Xero normally you can Edit a transaction.
    I have checked with Xero and that is the only current resolution.

    Xero is usually so user friendly but this way is time consuming and slow. Thanks

    Hi Antony, when processing expenses on the Xero Me app there is the option to edit an expense that has been submitted on both iOS and Android.

    On iOS this is available from the Options menu, and on Android you'll want to tap the 3 dots in the top right of the claim. 😊

  11. Payroll>Employees>Leave currently has leave balances in days and dollar values, this makes it difficult to determine what the amount should be either way.
    As the dollar amount may change due to pay rises or an average applied as per statutory legislation, it would be better if all fields were hours based values. This would make it consistent and easier as a consumer to use.
    As a user, I should not have to be trying to calculate what the values should be and if something doesn't appear to be right, I should not need to contact Xero to find out how…

    Hi team, we've recently released changes in Xero Payroll. As you may have seen you can now set up working patterns for employees to more accurately calculate employees wages and leave. While Holiday pay remains in dollars, Annual Leave will show in weeks and FBAPS Leave will now be shown in days.

    Just to note, Holiday Pay is not a one to one correlation to Annual Leave, however if you prefer to have leave in hours you could consider enabling leave in advance. You can see our article here for more information on managing employees leave.

Currently, when preparing financial statements or other reports in Xero, you have to export the report to PDF to work out if you will need to insert page breaks to keep all related content on one page, or to ensure that a heading doesn't end up on one page and the information on the next. This can sometimes mean exporting a report multiple times if there are multiple page breaks required.

    Hi everyone! Today we released the new preview panel to all users 🥳

    Any report that you can edit the layout of now has a PDF preview on the right of the screen. You'll be able to instantly see how any changes you're making to your reports will be reflected (including page breaks).

    We thoroughly appreciate the input and feedback we've received from customers which has helped refine this end result. Thank you

  13. The old version we used to be able to hit the Enter button whilst we are keying in the number keys to the right of our keyboard. In the new version we have come to realise that the Enter Button makes the decimal points pop up... instead of just being able to put in 50 for fifty dollars. I have been using the Enter key over near those numbers on the right since xero began and I am really hoping this is fixed ASAP if that is ok please

    Thanks for raising this with us in product ideas, Leanne. Appreciate it's been a few months since you first started this, however just coming back across and testing with the current experience it appears this is now working as you'd like to see here - When entering data in fields of a row in the invoice, if you press enter you'll move across to the next field. Also within an amount field like Qty or Price when you type in a figure and press enter this will move fields and round the amount to the nearest whole number, unless you have inserted a decimal point.

  14. when reconciling & uploading attached invoices/ receipts via app they don't show on xero desktop application in accounts transaction screen. It currently shows items as reconciled but with no uploaded documents icon.

    Hi Dean, from what you've described in behaviour it sounds like the files you've uploaded are attached to the invoice or bill directly.

    If you've attached a file to a Receive or Spend money or Payment directly when reconciling on the Xero Accounting app you'll see a file icon next to the transaction on the Account Transactions list when viewing the bank account on the desktop that you can click and will open a preview modal of the files attached.

    If you have attached files directly to your invoices or bills you'll be able to view the file icon next to these transactions from the relevant Sales or Bill list screens on your desktop.

  15. I use repeating journal entries a lot and hence all the fields except debit and credits are filled out. Might be good to be able to use the keyboard arrows to quickly go from one row to the next in a column field and even be able to go from credit cell to debit cell by just clicking on the left arrow button.

    Hi Brett, on doing a little more testing you can use the Enter key and the up and down arrows to move to the previous or next row of the same cell 😊

    Just make sure you press Enter first and then you'll be able to move, up, down, left or right using the arrow keys.

  16. When an invoice is approved it must stay in the shape of an original table where the ledger account column and the tracking category columns are present, (presenting this information in a line with a small font is ridiculous).

  17. On the invoice template there is a lot of 'white space', particularly to the right of the Product Description, which frequently wraps to a second line. The Product Item code also wraps to a second line on occasions. The Quantity, Unit Price, Discount and VAT columns could be reduced in width to allow for the increase in Item and Description fields.

    Hi community, thanks for your feedback here. While we won't be providing the ability to manually adjust column widths our product team recently released a new line item grid that with other improvements, optimises the padding, text size and column width so it is more compact and you can see more detail without the need to scroll. 

    All fields will also now wrap, so you'll be able to see all information of your account, tax rate and tracking without having to click into the field.

  18. We use many xero accounts, and for two of them, when accessing the invoice link, the invoice appears first, followed by a "PayNow" card payment option in the top left corner. However, for the other two accounts, the card payment window appears first without the invoice, which causes inconvenience to customers. (Of course, there is a download option at the bottom right.) Please change the settings to make the invoice appear first.The specialist can't fix this, and the different output seems to be a xero system issue. Please fix it soon.

    Hi everyone, within Email Settings you can edit the email template and deselect 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. This will strip back the look of the email a bit but this means the pay now, or Review and pay link will stop showing and instead you can just include the link to view the online invoice for your customers.

  19. Offer option to lock last and previous year's data to prevent unintentional corruption of "good data".
    Users would then have to slow down and take a great deal of care if changes to last and previous year's accounts is actually required.

    Thanks for the responses to my last update, team. Based on this we'll shift this idea to delivered.

    As previously shared - You can set lock dates that'll stop changes being made to transactions during a past period. Just as an alternative, if you'd like to keep a record of reports at a point in time you could also look to Publish reports in Xero. 🙂

    Hi Beth, appreciate it's been a little while since you first raised your idea here. This is actually already possible with the History & notes report.

    If you set the date as you need, then in the Search bar type 'Reconciled'. This will quickly group and show you a list of the transactions that have been reconciled for that period, along with a few details of the reconciliation.
