  2. Hi - could the Timer appear on other Xero pages, not just the Projects page? So when the timer is started, it stays on the screen when we move between Dashboard, Business, Accounting etc. That would be great. Thanks.

  4. When entering invoices and the account is always "sales" (for example), I would like the option to set up invoices to automatically use the "sales" account? It is currently only an option by setting up item codes and/or setting up through contacts. I would like to see it automatically assign the account at the time of entering the invoice, instead of having to type in an item code. It will save so much more time and avoid errors by users selecting an incorrect account from the chart of accounts.

  5. For the bill want 2 dates: one is the bill date, and one is the transaction date. we normally received the bills in the next month...if one date will affect the cost (as construction, use WIP), will be confused....

  6. In Projects

    When invoice is created from Projects ( I have Six Staff) It automatically orders this in name order and has mutiple date entries from the Latest date entered.
    I then have to ferry each date up the page to order these chronologically so i have the earliest date and each staff member for this date (before starting to add matarials etc)
    To make it easier for my clients to read what is entailed for each day.
    We need a button to convert invoice to date order as on big jobs this takes me over half an hour ??

  7. Currently when updating a draft invoice to approved some of the fields self populate (From, date, reference and tax inclusive total).
    Can the description field be done the same way instead of copying and pasting?

  8. When importing bills from a csv file, Xero will currently treat all lines with the same invoice number as one transaction, even if the separate lines are from different suppliers. The system should ideally not ignore the fact that the supplier name is not the same. Would be good to assume that the bill is posted against the correct supplier, even if it happens to have the same invoice number as another supplier's invoice.

  9. Is there any way to have an invoice email that is generated automatically based on the 'Item' (business > products and services) record selected from within the Invoice?

    We send invoices specific to individual contractors each month. These contractors ('Item' within invoice) have unique purchase orders and work order numbers that remain constant each month.

    Currently the email generated is a generic email which does not automatically populate the purchase order / work order number.

    Is there any way Xero can create an email template per 'Item' (business > products and services) record to minimise our risk of error and…

  10. Currently the 'attach files' function in the Products and Services (Inventory) only allows attachment of files outside of Xero. It cannot attach files from Xero inbox.
    Currently, my client will send documents directly into Xero inbox. I have to open the document, download it and save outside of Xero and attach files to Products and Services. Just too many steps. Would appreciate it if your team can look into this.

  11. Currently: In new invoicing we are provided with suggested items when completing fields such as "To:".
    Using Enter at this points selects that highlighted suggestion, but using Tab ignores the highlighted item.

    Request: Enable Tab to be used in new invoicing to confirm a highlighted selection. The same function as Enter currently provides within this context.
    Tab is an active keyboard option in other areas of Xero such as Bank Reconciliations so this would keep the UI more consistent.

  12. Would really appreciate the ability to export expense claims for an individual employee for a defined period which shows which are billable to a client and those that are not.

    Currently the Expense Claim Detail report only shows aged (unpaid) expenses and the Account Transactions Report shows all expenses whether paid, unpaid or submitted, but doesn't differentiate those that are general expenses from those that can be billed to Clients (Customers).

    Hard to believe we are the first small business to request this functionality.

  13. Apart from utilising the Notes function in client profiles, may I suggest a field be added for short term notes (not needed to be archived) to highlight an alert/instruction/warning for all staff when working on a particular client. As an example: do not lodge Tax returns for ABC until Paid.

  14. To import a payment file into the bank the user must download an ABA or CSV file from Xero and save to their local drive. This file is then manually imported into the bank - this poses a major data security risk. Xero already supports bank feeds with many large banks so there should be an option to import these payment files directly from Xero into the bank.

    Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice not approved
    Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice or draft bill (not approved and therefore not posted into the books of account).

    For example I would like to see what impact certain entries would have on a balance sheet or income statement but dont want to approve them only to see the impact and then subsequently void or reverse them if I am, say unhappy with the outcome ? I…

  17. When you look at an inventory item, it shows that you have that item on order, but it doesn't show you in the history and notes, what PO that the item is ordered on. All it shows in the history is the Bill's and the invoices.

    IT needs to show in the history the PO that the goods on order are ordered on.

  18. When invoicing, there is a drop down arrow/menu next to the "Print PDF" button, where you can select 'Invoice' or 'Packing Slip'.

    We need this feature to be available in the quote for printing a picking slip / delivery docket.

    Thanks for raising and supporting the idea here, community. Being open this isn't something we're looking to develop into Quotes for the time being. However, if needed you could have two branding themes, with a different Quote template: one for the quote itself, and one for a packing slip.

    You could then edit the quote, and switch the branding theme to the one you want to send out.

    Hi community, we want to update you that we've recently released the ability to include Purchase Orders (PO) through Payable Invoice Summary report. If you expand the side panel on the left of the report and select the 'Outstanding purchase orders summary' report, this will automatically display all Bills, Credit Notes and Purchase Orders and group them by Contact for you. You can use the total row of each contact to infer the remaining balance.

    We're aware this may not directly show the information that you’re asking for here, so we'll keep the status idea as it is and we’ll let you know if there’s any further updates.

  20. When making a batch payment, it's always a pain to have to exit to get the missing bank details.

    I'd love there to be a link to the bill to check the bank details on the document. Adding that extra layer of protection as well for those who want to make sure the bills bank details actually match back to the payments.

    It sounds like the suppliers payment details maybe held somewhere on the original bill that's been entered, Laura - Is this correct? 

    Is this detail that would commonly change for a supplier you work with? Generally when creating a batch this information is pulled from the contacts record.
