  1. Expenses - Clone or Copy an Existing Expense

    My team have asked if we can make a 'copy to new Expense feature' from an existing Expense. Most of the expenses they enter are similar and just have a different amount and different receipt image. It would save them a lot of time if they could clone an existing Expense. Thank you.

    Hi team, it's possible to Duplicate an expense receipt within Xero Me mobile app. 😊

    Your employee can open a Submitted or Approved receipt, select options and they'll see the ability to 'Duplicate'. Alternatively, for a complete Claim simply opening the receipt and scrolling down they should see the option to Duplicate.

    In the draft receipt they'll be able to change whatever details necessary before submitting for approval.

  3. being able to use a next/previous button to toggle through bills and invoices without using the main bill or invoice to find the next document. Be able to amend bill/invoices without missing any.

    Good news team, quick view is out and this is now available to everyone. As you'll see from the bills list view there is now an eye icon that shows a right side preview of your bill when clicked. To simply move from one bill to the next use the arrows above your bill view. This makes it even simpler to take bulk action on multiple bills at once without having to open and review each individually.

  4. In Sales by item report we need a column of Customer as well, since it's not available so we are not able to get the details which customer ordered which product.

    Appreciate letting us know how we could improve your flow when working from the Xero Accounting app, Joshua. Our team have just released a change for iOS to align with the Android behaviour.

    Now, when you send an invoice or a quote, the 'Send me a copy' field will be unchecked by default.🙂

  6. Option to Auto Fill Account, Tax Rate, Sales person for all rows. It gets quite time consuming to manually add for each line (even if it is a button at the top of the fields allowing auto fill of all, that would greatly help)

  7. On bills awaiting payment and payment batches having a way to copy the amount that is not formatted so that it can be pasted directly into bank payment amount fields. At the moment the value is formatted with commas "1,200" which cannot be copied directly to a bank payment page.

    Hi team, appreciate it's been some time since this idea was initially raised. Returning and doing some testing in the current product this is now possible. Sorry we have not updated on this idea sooner.

    You'll find in both batch payment and within an individual bill payment you can copy and paste amounts. Currency symbols will be stripped but the formatting of the amount itself should be pasted.

    Hi all, as previously shared this is possible by adding a new line to your invoice. You can add both positive or negative lines to the invoice to change the total amount.

    Alternatively rather than a line in itself you could use new invoicing to discount each line by a total amount.

  10. Usually, the options when you make a new bill would be "create new, copy, edit, etc" and date issued, date due, but no date planned to pay. SoI hope that one day there would be an additional option of "schedule for payment at date" because sometimes there are so many bills lying around and going to the "ALL" tab in Bills to pay, to find which are the bills that haven't had a schedule yet to schedule it is kind of inconvenient. So if I may, I would like a small additional option to be able to assign a planned…

    Hi everyone, returning to confirm that Quick view for bills has now been released to all users.

    You'll see while still on the list view when you click the 'eye' icon you can see full detail of your bill and make a few quick actions including the ability to add a planned date.

    I appreciate there are a couple of recent comments still wanting to see this in the individual bill page - please give this option a try and feedback if still does not meet your needs. We may open another idea to get a refreshed sense of the interest. Thanks

  11. Extend the search function under bills to pay to include creation date to help elevate duplication when exporting data to csv file.

    I want to export invoices from Xero to import into a CRM platform to use as a job cost analysis as this is not a function Xero currently has.

    All invoices dated the 01.09.22 will not be input on the same date so there is no way to ensure you have exported all the invoices for the 01.09.22 unless you delay the export. This is not a practical solution for me as I want to assess the profit…

    Hi team, returning to the idea I wanted to highlight that you can currently run the History & notes report which could be filtered for Type = Bill, and type 'created' in the search bar.


    Relating to the ability to identify duplicates - our team are currently working on aa duplicate detector that'll further help with this process, so you'll be able to review bills that have been identified as duplicates and take needed action before exporting - You can stay up to date with work for this on this idea. Just add your vote to receive updates 🙂

  12. in the APP can we have inventory stock levels show when you search for an item.
    Currently it only shows if you have xero stock and try and save.
    I have to use the desktop version to view levels

    Hi team, thanks for your input on the idea here. Now in the Accounting app you'll see the current Quantity on Hand for Tracked inventory items shown when you add an item to a Sales Invoice or Quote.😊

  13. Can the new invoicing template show the address like the old templates used? Now if you go into edit the addresses have disappeared and to check if it is correct you have to click on the contact and fix it in a new tab.
    Also the notes section has removed the time stamps and the email address the invoices get sent to. Can the new invoicing have the same notes and history function as the old one.

    Hi team, I can confirm we have released another update for the history of new invoicing where now you'll see an entry when the invoice is sent and the email address it has been sent to. 🎉

    We appreciate the interest we've seen around this. We still have a few more pieces of work we're doing around the history in new invoicing and you can stay updated on this progression on this idea. 

  14. In the classic invoicing history, we can see the date and timestamp, this is not available in the new invoicing - see attached screenshots.

    We use this time stamp a lot for trouble shooting - like what time or XPM and what time was the invoice approved. This helps if there is an integration problem or double up, or payment query.

    Well that was quick! 😉 It turns out along with an entry when an invoice is sent, our product team also managed to release time stamps 🎉

    In history & notes of new invoicing, next to the date you'll now see a time stamp of when an entry occurred. Thank you all who voted and shared with us on the idea, here. 

  15. It is currently not possible to change the exchange rate used in the new invoicing screen, when invoicing in a foreign currency. You have to switch back to classic invoicing to correct it to the monthly rate we have entered in settings.

    Hi team, we have recently released the ability to set the exchange rate within new invoicing for organisations that use multi-currency.

    Just like classic, as soon as the invoice currency is changed to a currency other than the orgs base currency, the option to 'Set exchange rate' will appear which you can click to edit.

  16. Not quite sure if this is applicable here, but it would be good if there was a newsletter of sorts to announce any new apps that is released on the Xero App Store. It'll be good if there was a update of sorts whenever a new integration for Xero was released, especially for clients who're still looking for the right app to sign up for.

I would like to make a suggestion (for XERO improvements). on the inventory page, where it is listed, where there are 3 dots on the right (currently only archive or delete), can EDIT not be added there, rather than first clicking on it, and then searching the edit button on the top of the next screen

  18. We enter bulk bills into the system and can only attached a copy of the invoice after authorised. To upload these signed invoices are time consuming having to open each bill and then drag or attached the copy invoice.

    It would save us so much time if these invoices could be attached directly to the bills in purchase overview instead of having to open every bill.

    Hi team, appreciate it's been a while since this was first raised here. Recently we released some changes to the list view of bills where you can now 'Quick view' your bills from the list view without having to open each individually.

    You'll find by clicking on the eye icon in the list it'll open up a side view of the bill where you can also add attachments 😊

  19. When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!

    We appreciate the engagements you've all shown to let us know the importance of this feature when invoicing and how being able to view how many items of tracked inventory you have when invoicing, enhances your workflow. Thank you for feeding back and sharing your thoughts with us here.

  20. Currently: In new invoicing we are provided with suggested items when completing fields such as "To:".
    Using Enter at this points selects that highlighted suggestion, but using Tab ignores the highlighted item.

    Request: Enable Tab to be used in new invoicing to confirm a highlighted selection. The same function as Enter currently provides within this context.
    Tab is an active keyboard option in other areas of Xero such as Bank Reconciliations so this would keep the UI more consistent.

    Hi team, we recently made a change to the tabbing behaviour, so now when you tab to a field and highlight an option, tabbing to the next field will hold the selection that was highlighted.

    For example pressing Tab in the 'To' field will hold the highlighted contact, and move you onto the 'Issue date' field.
