  1. I would like to be able to select the leave types in the leave balance report. As at today it gives you all leave types in the report. You cannot filter either as it only allows filtering of amount, employee group and units.

  2. A CSV/Excel file with headers Employee, Gross, Net, NI, giving essentially the same data as the Payroll Activity Details report, for a payrun, but in column format with one line per employee for ease of reference.

    We have more than 30 employees and the Payroll Activity Details report is very long and cumbersome to reference.

  3. Edited Leave request date sends a notification to the employee for the wrong date. We recently had an employee request an RDO for 19/07/2024. After discussion with the employee this date was not suitable because the employee was due to provide training to a customer this date so we agreed to change the date to the following week (26/07/2024).

    I then edited the leave request to be for the 26/07/2024 and approved the request.

    The employee received an email notification that their request for leave on the 19/07/2024 was approved!

    The employee then contacted me because they were confused and…

  4. Changing an employee's surname due to marriage, for example, changes their details for historical payslips and all other payroll historical reports. Could a field be added perhaps that allows for 'maiden name' or 'previously known as' without disrupting historical info?

  5. Given that we are now can add employees into different tracking/groups on Xero.
    It works well when we post a pay run and it puts all transactions in Wages expenses, super expenses, PAYG W and super payable, but not Wages Payable. Seems odd that it doesn't.

Currently, when you assign a leave type to a new employee, for all leave types other than annual leave and personal leave you have to go into that leave type on the employee card and manually change the leave settings to what should be the default for all employees. For example, RDOs should always be paid out on cessation of employment, but the default setting is "not paid out", and I cannot change the default setting, only each individual's settings.

    I should be able to set what the default settings are, to reduce the likelihood of stuffing it up.

  7. Payroll:

    Allow changes to employees' regular earnings details even when a draft pay run is in progress. If an employee's rate needs to be changed, they should be unticked or deselected in the draft pay run.

    Currently, the entire pay run needs to be deleted, even if only one out of fifty employees needs a rate change, doubling the time spent on preparing the pay run. All calculations for overtime, leave, reimbursements, and deductions will need to be redone.

    Hopefully, this can be considered.

    Hey community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea, I’m pleased to let you know that this has been delivered for UK Payroll initially! It includes the ability to select the date range you’re interested in, and check boxes to either select all results or multiple. Then you can download your selection as a single PDF of multiple payslips.

    For users in AU and NZ we know this is a highly anticipated feature, however to be open this is not any immediate plans for those teams so we’ll leave this idea open. While we appreciate it doesn’t help employers needing bulk downloads, employees can be invited into the Xero Me portal to self-serve payslip collection.

  10. A report that shows current annual leave hours, plus leave available to take in advance hours for each employee. It's very time consuming to have to calculate leave if you want to give an employee leave in advance. Using the "show leave available to take in advance" option in the employee set up tends to give the wrong balances on the employee payslip which leads to confusion.

  11. When a leave request comes in for approval and the employee can take leave in advance (the box is ticked), it should show you how many hours the employee has available. This amount should be the number available minus the leave balance that has already been approved in the system. The leave balance report is only useful when employees can't take leave in advance in their first year.   14. We have a 2 year old issue where we changed an employee end date then reverted a payrun. HMRC has not recognised the revertion or that the resubmission is the same data so we have a duplicate that we haven't been able to sort out.
    To avoid this pain for others, could there be a pop-up warning if someone tries to revert (or otherwise change) a payrun where an included employee has an end date set? Or if the end date has been changed? The details of how it works can be as is easiest to implement.

  15. Recently did the super and needed to add the TFN of each and every individual employee manually into the file.

    If it's a required field for the clearing house file then it should be included in the super accruals report - obviously.

    Hi everyone, we have just released the Leave Requests report in UK Payroll. As mentioned earlier users with the Payroll Admin role will be able to access this report from the Reports Centre. This report lists the details for leave requested, approved and taken, for all employees or can be run for a singular employee. We appreciate while it addresses some needs here it is not the equivalent of the Leave Balances report and we'll keep this idea open and share if there is any work planned toward this specific report. We have also created a new idea to track the interest in a Leave Transactions report and I encourage those interested in this here to also join and support the idea for this.

  17. UK Payroll - allow employers who have received SMP advance funding to enter the amount received so that the SMP paid is not recovered, and the correct amount owing to HMRC shows on the Taxes and Filings page.

  18. AUSTRALIA PAYROLL - Can we PLEASE have a separate Lock Date for Payroll. I have had many incidents where I have prepared an Activity Statement ( PAYG), and the client reverts a pay run to draft, makes a change AFTER THE ENDOF MONTH AND IAS CREATION, and then we have to re-calculate and re-submit IAS for signature.

    The lock date is unable to be added as the ACCOUNTS are still being reconciled, but the payroll is complete.

    This will also be extremely helpful at EOFY.
