    Hi everyone, thanks for your input and joining the conversation on this idea. Bulk voiding bills is in the process of being released to all users. You can bulk void bills from the awaiting payments tab in Xero, selecting up to 200 bills at once 🎉

    If a bill has had a payment applied to it you'll need to remove this before it can be voided. Have a quick look over the video to see how this works. 😊

  2. Allow change to email format so that the VERY LARGE $X,*** 'Review and pay' button can be removed - as it can in the Classic invoicing. I have a large client who has stated they will leave Xero, rather than send emails in this format. They find it too aggressive.

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback here. Right now it is possible to hide the 'Review and Pay' buttons completely from the Email Settings in the Organisation  settings. From here you can disable the 'Include quick link to online invoice and detail summary' setting to hide the payment buttons entirely.

    Just to note, this does strip back the email formatting so you might like to send yourself a copy to see what this then looks like once the option has been disabled. Thanks

  3. When selecting the date, why only have today and tomorrow, not the calendar. A lot of the time when entering an invoice, it will be dated to a previous day. Why not have the calendar and these options? Or have yesterday as an option.

    So far, this new invoicing is a mess and definitely doesn't make life easier. Improvements are needed.

    Hi community, appreciate things are a little different between classic invoicing and new. While we've created common date selections when entering dates using new invoicing you can still pick any date you need. 

    From the date field, under Today and Tomorrow, is 'Pick another date', clicking this will open a calendar popup so you can select the date you need. You may also find some of our date entry shortcuts useful when entering this information in Xero.

  4. Can the new invoicing template show address like the classic invoicing template does?
    Classic invoicing - Shows company address and the person it is addressed to (Attention:) when viewing the invoicing from our end
    New Invoice - Only shows the company name and to check if the address is correct and if the person it is addressed to is correct you have to click on Edit or download it as a pdf to verify it.

    Hi team, with our latest updates to new invoicing you're now able to see your contacts address if they have one saved when viewing the invoice. 

    Appreciate the question around being able to edit the address and to confirm - you'll find in view mode you can click on the contact to view the contact card. If you'd like to edit the address click the small link in the top right of the contact card. This'll pop the contact open in a separate browser tab where you can edit and add a billing and/or delivery address. 🙂

  5. On 31 July 2023 my old Trial Balance that shows the current movement per the months selected as well as the YTD figures will be discontinued. It will be replaced by a Trial balance that only shows the YTD figures and the comparative figures with the previous year. That doesn't help me at all when I have to do a monthly management report and can only see the YTD figures. I'm begging you, don't discontinue the old Trial Balance report! Or at least give me the option between displaying YTD figures and the movement for a specific period.

    Hey community, just popping back as promised! We’ve rolled out an update to the Trial Balance report this morning, adding in two new additional columns that show the monthly movement, similar to the older report. You can add in these optional columns from the Columns drop down menu - I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.

  6. Allow the Xero app to take photos of receipts at the time of purchase. To reduce the number of steps to get a photo of a receipt attached to a transaction.

    Ideally then when reconciling credit card transactions, the receipts will already be in Xero and they would pop up as a suggestion, based on the date of the transaction with the date the photo was taken.

    It would also be ideal if you could view the receipt whilst coding, like it does when you are viewing a draft bill to pay.

  7. Hi, the new version of invoicing will increase my work load. at present when you open an invoice to approve it, it is easy to select the tracking categories, as it is linked to the client profile. in the new version it does not and you have to go through the list in a drop down!

    Also we have an issue when we change the invoice date. for example and Invoice raised on the 5th Feb should be paid on the 6th March. If we change the invoice date from the 5th to the 4th, it does not change the…

    Thanks for your feedback on the idea here, with the way new invoicing works once you add a contact, any sales defaults saved for that contact in their record will be applied. 

    Adding a Qty or Price for a line will trigger Tracking defaults saved for them to be automatically applied. Similarly this applies to the any default saved for Due Date. If you have saved a due date that is driven by the invoice Issue date you should see this update if you change the Issue date on the invoice. 

    If this is not behaviour that you're experiencing please do raise a case with our team of specialists so we can take a closer look into this with you. 

  8. Immediately after creating an invoice, you approve it, then a series of boxes appears at the bottom of the screen allowing you to receive the payment. Once payment is applied you can send the receipt to the customer. This is ESSENTIAL for accepting cash payments or any payment made at the time of delivery but before sending the invoice. Please add this feature from OLD invoicing to New invoicing.

    Hi Fiona, it's not necessary to send an invoice before adding a payment. Once an invoice is created in new invoicing the default option is 'approve and send' but 'approve' can be selected instead. A payment can then be added and receipt sent, with a similar workflow to classic invoicing.

    Atm there's no way to set the default approve option for an invoice. However, this has been raised as an idea across here if you'd like to add your vote. 🙂

    Hey community, thanks for your continued interest in this idea. Earlier this year we delivered some updates to reports, so that they’ll now show page numbers and date stamps when exported to PDF.

    This is an idea that was seeded by the community team when we launched Product Ideas back in 2022.

    The Product team has done some great work to address the original request but reading the commentary here, the scope of the idea has grown a bit since then!

    We’re confident that this release solves the original request so I’ll be marking this as delivered.

    There are additional improvements that have picked up some momentum in the comments: to make the date stamp toggle-able, and to extend the field to include time as well. To be open we don't have plans to progress these specific asks.

  12. Why does the Project record not cross-reference the invoice number when the project is invoiced?

    Just rounding back, we'll shift this idea to delivered. For anyone coming across the idea here - Currently within a Project you can click on the Quotes & invoices tab to view Invoices that have been raised with the Project assigned and this will also show the Invoice and Due dates. 😊

  13. It would be nice if you could flip an invoice or a bill to a credit note of each kind. Sometimes when bringing in data from Hubdoc, a credit note will be pushed as a bill, so if you could basically hit a button to flip it the other way that would be great, same with invoices.

    You may already have seen on this idea, Hubdoc has rolled out support for automatic credit note detection.

    As mentioned by some here, when a credit note is detected by Hubdoc, all you'll need to do is review before publishing to Xero.

    Though there are suggestions for a direct button in Xero, based on this availability through Hubdoc, we're going to mark this idea as delivered.

  14. Add the capability to zoom in submitted receipts. As an approver of claims it is very hard to read the receipts without being able to zoom in or enlarge on certain parts of submitted receipts. This was available in the old “expenses” app which will no longer be in use at the end of February

  15. Bring back the Cancel Button in the Draft Invoice Screen please. We are all human and make mistakes and sometimes it is better to cancel and start again. In the new invoicing you need to exit and delete the draft - losing another invoice number. Please reinstate. Thanks

  17. I do not know if there is a way to do this if so it is not too simple. I would like to allocate a payment from the Bank to a Supplier but to not allocate it against any invoices. This would not be a new invoice but would sit on there account so it is easy to know what they owe a supplier. This idea would be similar to Sage "Payment on Account" which is very simple to do on Sage.

    Hi team, the way to do this in Xero would be to reconcile the payment as an overpayment or a prepayment. This would then be credit on a suppliers account that could be applied to a bill at a later date. 

    Best to connect with your adviser if you're unsure which transaction type you should record these as, however we have a bit more information on these here and here respectively. 😊

    Hi everyone, we’re pleased to share that we’ve now released working patterns to all UK organisations that use Xero Payroll.

    This change reduces manual workarounds enabling you to enter more information employees’ working patterns to support accurate allocations of leave and earnings rates. You’ll find you can now;

    • Create or select from working pattern templates
    • Add working patterns manually or using the template
    • Setup multiple weeks of a working pattern

  20. The client has been using Hubdoc for uploading the bills into Xero. How can we record the part payment for the bill during the reconciliation in Xero please?
    In general, we use "Split" to record the part payment but we are unable to see the split on Hubdoc bill

    Hi Just a heads-up that this is a public forum for discussing improvements to Xero, rather than finding support with using Xero. 


    To do this you could:  

    1. View the bill and scroll to the bottom to the 'Make a payment' section. 
    2. Record the part payment here, directly on the bill. 
    3. Finally, use Find & Match to reconcile the bank statement line with the part payment.
