It would be extremely useful if the Approver received notifications when items are awaiting approval.
Much time would be saved if this was done automatically, making the process more efficient and streamlined. -

Am sure there are plenty of things to approve, but particularly important to me is approval of timesheets - is time critical to make sure done in time for pay run each month. Only a small business, so timesheets are ad hoc and not a given each month

Its very critical for me, the benefits are as below
>Faster approvals: Approvers see notifications immediately, speeding up decision-making.
>Increased efficiency: Reduced wait times for transactions to be processed.
>Improved visibility: Clear awareness of pending approvals for better tracking.
>Enhanced communication: Direct notification keeps approvers informed and engaged.
>Streamlined workflow: Smooth and timely progress eliminates bottlenecks.Overall: This feature saves time, improves communication, and optimizes financial workflows within Xero

@xeroteam - Why does something so simple take so long to implement. This is a necessary feature to make your product more usable for businesses. I'm in the business of building technology and this should take a day maximum to do yet its been left hanging since 2022!! Come on guys

Absolute must for small businesses, larger businesses might have someone working in Xero daily, whereas like myself just starting out, we have to login each day just to check if there are any invoices waiting to be approved.
Either email or maybe a push notifiction in the app would be really useful!

Please add function to notify someone of approval awaiting. This is a no-brainer

Having an automatic notification sent to the approver when Purchase Orders have been raised would save so much time and would avoid the need for manual emails to be sent. Would be great if this could be set up asap.

would fast track things and avoid me having to send messages to the approver as a reminder. this should be a standard feature!

This would be a game changer for us. Xero please advise if this is in production at present.

This would be incredibly useful, I am rather surprised that it is not already there. Although I see the suggestion was first mooted in 2012 so I shall not hold by breath!

This will be so helpful, if we can just get some action on this.

This is very important as staff are sometimes 'out of pocket' for a lot longer than they should be, and causes other issues.

I am surprised a PO Approval notification email is not a standard feature, it seems like it would be a similar automation to an approved invoice notification? It is not very efficient or effective for staff to have to manually email PO numbers for approval. Please add this feature ASAP.

Yes - I agree with others - please add this feature!

This is really important to us with the majority of our workers working remotely. It would be a huge improvement if an automatic notification could be sent when approvals are required.

@melissa
Quickbooks?
Although I generally hate the software (probably because I don't use it enough rather than it not being that good) it does have a proper approval process. Assign an approver and when an invoice is ready they get a notification automatically.

This seems like table stakes TBH. Hard to believe it doesn't already exist.

Has anyone come up with an alternate solution while we wait for them to add this?
