History & Notes - Xero Mail - Log of mail sent via Xero
Have a log or register of all emails sent from a Xero organisation with detail of content, recipients, senders, and date of send.
Purpose: Validity when being queried by customers about a transaction, verifying payments and collecting debtor payments. Proof of interaction.

This is such a vital thing to have I am so surprised it does not happen already. For Audit trails etc it is so important. Please can this be set up to happen.

I feel this is vital, because I came across similar situation where I want to send evidence of original email sent to him from Invoice screen. Unfortunately I have timestamp alone as evidence but couldnt pull the email sent to him when Invoice was raised. We should have a log on this.

This is vital, I write different messages to customers and need a copy. I should not have to cc myself, the body of the email needs to be saved in the customer account in Xero.

ANY correspondence to a client from a Xero organisation via the Xero platform SHOULD BE an essential link to your organisation. It is verifiable proof you've interacted with your client and enables you to manage client experience, risks, etc

Critical system to have linked to client account, if it is a "cc me " on the email it is significant additional administration to download the email and add to the clients file in xero or alternately try and maintain filing within standard mail system for every client.

If you provide the option to edit the email template before sending then Xero MUST provide a copy of that amended email as it is no longer a "default" or "basic" template. This also provides an audit trail and to provide confirmation of what was said to the customer in the event of a dispute.

As a work round you could set up an email address (e.g. quotes@yourcompany.com then send to it also, when you send out a quote. Not ideal but that's what we have done to have a trace of our invoices.

I feel we may have to boycott Xero over the inability to add this feature.
Multiple times now I have had a customer say I haven't sent them quotes when I have.
Had been selecting "send me a copy" only to realise now it doesn't tell me what email addressed I sent them too. Waste of time and lost sales.

It surely cannot be to difficult as other accounting packages have this facility -

Twice I have had the 'send me a copy' not work and am shocked to see that I cannot access an email once sent - this is very poor service from Xero.

It's critical to be able to view what has been sent to the client. As it could be sent by any user of the system. Any audit trail isn't complete without it.

To be able to confirm that a bookkeeper is doing the job as required, to be able to check the emails is critical.

I can't believe this is an issue in 2023! How can you offer to send emails, but not be able to view what was sent?!?! Especially when other people from your business need to see what was sent, or what was sent a while/few weeks ago, people can't be expected to just 'remember' the content in all of these emails!!

This is such a critical feature. The lack of it is causing so many problems. Come on Xero, why do you not listen to your customers? It's really bad customer service!

From a PI and legal perspective we need to be able to prove the correspondence that has been sent to our clients. And I extend this requirement to Xero Sign\Document Packs.
