Ability to increase unit price field to six decimal places.
Purpose: To make users easier when they have to input unit price with lots of decimal numbers

Really hoping that this becomes a possibility as when dealing with large numbers, a few extra decimal places makes a huge difference in the accuracy of the billing!
Curious to know why it would be so hard to provide that option?

I have also raised a support case CX0013184989 for this and it has been passed to a specialist for further assistance.
Fingers crossed.

I strongly support this idea to stay within UK law!
I am importing energy invoices from a specialist app into Xero via a CSV file. I need UnitAmount to use 5dp. I wish I could reduce my UnitAmount to 4dp but I cannot legally. Energy in UK use tariffs that are quoted in pence per kWh to 3 decimal places. So in pounds (£) 5dp are required by the time the UnitAmount has been divided by 100. I do not want to be outside government regulations. If after import, I edit the draft invoice line and add back the 5th dp to UnitAmount, it correctly calculates the Total - so it can't be a big change to make please.

This is very frustrating, I sell screws, when I create a part and price it at 0.124 (£12.40/100) the quote/order/invoice comes out at £0.12 (£12.00/100) this can be a considerable loss in some cases, we now have to manually put the price in to 3 decimal points !!!

I also support this idea. It would be great to increase the decimals more than 4 decimal places by automatically.

There are many different scenarios where a unit price that is limited to four decimal places is too restrictive for bills and invoices.
For example, unit prices that have been converted from a foreign currency, share dividends and many others.
Why not make it unlimited?

This is somethng that is needed sooner reather than later, as we use a seperate CRM package that deals with products to 4 decimal places and when syncing the invoices across into Xero they come in with 2 decimal places and it causes grief to us and our clients

I support this idea. It would be great to increase the decimals up to 6 decimal places.

This will allow me to reconcile share buys correctly without having to do a seperate line item for the difference.

Our POS system goes up to 7 decimal points so this information is lost when it integrates into Xero. The knock on effect is that all of our unit costs for supplier invoices are incorrect and need to be manually corrected in Xero.

Please implement this also in bills

Please allow arbitrary decimal precision on quantity, price and discount. There is no other way to ensure numbers come out correctly.
