Quote - Get a link that can be shared externally

Ability to get quote links so users can also send it from their own/other email address.

Purpose: To simplify the current workflow. As users’ currently sending a quote to themselves from Xero, and then copy the link out of there.

Hi everyone, completely appreciate wanting to hear from us on the idea here. Having checked in with our product team we totally get the interest in this idea and creating more consistency between quotes and invoices in Xero.
While we'd like to take a closer look into this down the line, we want to be upfront that there's other work that the team are drawn to atm as a priority and creating a shareable link for a quote is not planned at this stage.
It's definitely on the teams radar and we're keeping an eye on the feedback here, as soon as there's any news to share I'll be sure to update you on this, here.

    I'm struggling to understand how this has been a suggestion for 10 years and still not been done. I'm starting to doubt my decision to move to Xero, the product development seems to be stagnant, with no interest in customer requests.

    This would save your users a lot of time and frustration. Makes me want to go back to MYOB

    @Xero - any update? This is more important than trying to push us onto a New Invoicing that no one wants.

    Please, listen to your people rather than looking for new customers with 90% off sales

    I just migrated to Xero and it's completely bonkers that you can't share a link to a quote.

    Is this a feature that is in motion? I can't understand how invoices can have a sharable link, but quotes can't. It is honestly such an essential feature.

    The glacial pace that simple and obvious features are added to Xero is depressing. Are there any updates on when this will be added?

    4 to 10 times a daily I say "bloody xero" when I have to email myself to get a share link.

    we've wasted more time than the developers would take to add a simply "copy link" to quotes.

    PLEASE PLEAS PLEASE FIX THIS XERO

    Perhaps we should all start leaving a comment on every time the lack of this feature aggravates us.

    For me, that's 3-4 times per business day as I have to email myself a quote to get the link, to send to a client. Infuriating.

    We've started looking at Stripe and MYOB alternatives. Too many Xero missing features. They're spending all their resources trying to acquire new customers rather than support their exisiting.

    Hello, any update on this addition? To reiterate, it's absurd that we need to send the quote to ourselves first before being able to get the link.

    @Nick Unwin I use Harvest for quoting and invoicing (and timekeeping). I believe it can integrate with Xero but given how poor Xero is in general I'm not holding my breath.

    @Timmy O'Mahony, agreed. Drives me mad. We're in the process of looking at Stripe for quoting and invoicing. What system did you move to?

    Because even if Xero did implement this, right behind it needs to be "accept & pay" because this break between accepting a quote and then us having to convert to an invoice so the customer can pay is so clunky.

    Just FYI, this missing feature alone has made me stop using quoting and invoicing altogether and I’m now looking at alternative accounting apps in general as the lack of consistency between invoicing and quoting is astounding. Missing such a basic feature such as copying a link is unforgivable. It’s been nearly ten years since this was suggested 😂
