Adding cash coding into Xero Starter Plan
Purpose: It will help the accountant's work easier in reconciling their client’s account.

Keep cash coding

Totally agree with this. Needs to be on all plans at least for advisors

I use cash coding only to code my accounts

Cash coding is critical

So many clients prefer cash coding over the reconciliation screen too. Especially given it was part of the GST cashbook, it also minimises errors that can be easily made by just clicking okay on the reconcile screen.

It seems they are pushing accountants to purchase higher plans, but this doesn't seem to work

I'm new to Xero and I have about a thousand entries to make to catch up. Sure would make things go quicker.

why is this the case it was on cheaper vat cashbook package previously

Yes I must say the omission of cash coding is very disruptive. As a bookkeeper I need this feature as a one-off here and there to bulk reconcile for clients that have gotten behind, and there is no way they need a higher tier of subscription year around otherwise. All it does is make my job more difficult and miserable, its borderline not fit for purpose in some instances.
I would seriously consider other software for these small businesses because of things like this.

I agree, why is cash coding not included on Ignite Plan when it is available on the lower Simple plan? It's a useful time saving tool that clients like.

Why would cash coding not be included? It is a very useful and essential tool. Please include it!

This is a backward step! It seems you are removing accountants plans and replacing them with end user plans at higher cost - we do not use the same features at all!! I can't think of any of our clients who would use cash coding, most don't use rules at all - wheres accountants always use cash coding for both semi-automating rules and also for bulk reconciliation.
If you must remove an accountants plans then we need to see Cash Coding reinstated for Ignite - it is after all the only package inner range without it - even Ledger has bulk reconciliation!!!
Why not simply re-instate VAT Cashbook which perfectly fitted that bookkeeper and accountant need for non-accrual accounting and bookkeeping use?

Having had this function removed I will now have to spend an inordinate amount of time posting line by line. This removes the competitive edge that Xero has as the cost of my time being passed onto our client is unsustainable. This is a really basic function that has been removed.
If we want to keep using Xero we will roll back to a cheaper partner plan and use bridging software to file VAT returns.
Not very well thought out Xero!!!

I agree with the comment below from Rob Winder - it is quite bewildering that XERO has removed the facility for Cash coding at this lower level of requirement. That is what made XERO great and enticed into the echo system building platforms for other clients. I shall look for alternatives shortly. This is not how a professional organisation acts towards its customers.

Unbelievable that VAT cash books have been removed meaning that you have to use ignite if you need VAT. However, cash coding is not included in this subscription despite being more expensive than the cash book. If it wasn't for the fact I am so invested in Xero now I would kick it into touch. Stop being so greedy Xero and allow Ignite to use cash coding.

seems too basic a function to leave out of the lowest plan.

It is provided on the Ledger plan which is so much more cheaper than the Ignite plan (which doesn't have cash coding). Knowing this, I have already downgraded some of my clients plans just so I can use cash coding. It needs to be on the starter plan!
