Reporting - File Attachment Report
Ability to show attached documents in Reporting.
Purpose: To provide clients to see the list of transactions which also show the attachment for each transaction.

Hey everyone, thanks for your feedback on having the ability to run a File Attachment report in Xero.
We know it's a bit of a manual process right now, but to confirm there are currently some places within Xero that'll help provide a view of the files attached to transactions, such as the account transactions page in the bank reconciliation screen, or the list pages like on Invoices or Bills.
Though we really appreciate you highlighting how this feature would be useful to you, we want to be transparent that we don't have any plans for building a report of this nature right now.
Though the idea has been updated to Not in pipeline it will remain open for votes. If there are any changes that change this state we'll make sure to share with you all, here.

This would be a vital assistance tool. To be able to see what documents are still needing to be uploaded would be vital as a business/accountant/bookkeeper.

Well said Eliza.
Since I raised this in March 2022, do you think Xero staff ever read or consider what the customer thinks?
This is such a basic and simple change it seems crazy that other amazing new features and wacky ideas are being worked on before completing foundational issues.
****** foundations was what Sage built upon all those years ago and then had to redesign everything as it crumbled from the base up...
Just a thought

High Priority: Responding to New FRS Changes and Fraud Prevention Regulations
With the upcoming changes in Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and increased emphasis on fraud prevention, it's more important than ever for micro businesses to optimise their use of Xero.furthermore, for micro companies—especially those without in-house finance teams or access to full-time bookkeepers—this means maximising the utility of Xero as it was originally intended: a tool for business owners themselves, not just accountants.
Now is the time to focus on practical system design, automation, and simplified workflows that empower small business owners to stay compliant and efficient without external overhead - instead of 3rd party promoting marketplace apps providing basic functionality XERO can easily deliver

This is a HIGHLY important function as our team makes initial purchases and then our book keepers need to verify the final transactions with the actual settlement charges.

Just checking in—are there any updates on this? I'm really looking forward to seeing this feature rolled out!

I would love to see a column option in the Account Transactions or General Ledger report that shows if there is an attachment (similar to how it does on the bank reconciliation screen) so I don't have to open a transaction to see if there is an attachment.

This is essential, you basically already have it when we view the account transactions within the bank reconciliation page. We just need to be able export this.

It is essential for accountants to be able to determine if there are any supporting documentation gaps on the system.

This is a very important addition that needs to be added to Xero. We need to see if clients have attached all the invoices in one easy report rather than having to click into each transaction to view which is very time consuming.

This would be a game changer! Client won't need to send to us source documents separately.

Need this function for auditing purposes. Nobody has time to open every credit card transaction to see if there is a missing attachment...

Even just an attachment icon for lines in the Bank Account 'Account Transactions' screen would be an immense help!

Very difficult to prep for an audit without this function.

Would benefit from this feature to also be able to quickly reference details on the attachments, maybe another report to filter and export the attachment files as per search?
