Reporting - File Attachment Report
Ability to show attached documents in Reporting.
Purpose: To provide clients to see the list of transactions which also show the attachment for each transaction.

This function will save me a lot of time, as I won't have to click on each transaction to search for the attachments!

I don't think being able to see the attachment within the report is necessary, although cool if they have the icon to be able to see it (like on the sales or bills screens). But the real need for this report is to let clients know what transactions don't have documents attached, including spend money/ receive money, not just invoices and bills.

I would have thought this would already be an option

Would save time having a report which indicated if specific transaction had an attachment when reviewing/confirming that substantiation requirements have been met.

Being able to transactions with attachements would be a gret help for auditing activity statements to ensure supporting documents are attached for items claiming GST

This excellent idea has been requested for several years and we would like to know if this is being worked on. For Xero to have a report that shows (yes/no) if a file is attached will make it easier for businesses to understand what is required for IRD purposes.
Can there please be an update response from Xero on progress of this idea wince it's initial request back in 2016?

This is available on rubbish free software. The fact this is over 2 years old and not implemented however subscription fees have almost doubled in that time, goes to show a decent competitor in the market will do very well and we can all bin Xero for the greedy waste of space tech company they are.

I would like to be able to see if a Xero data file has had a file uploaded and attached to a transaction. If a column could be added to the Account Transactions Report, to show if a file is linked to a particular transaction, I would not need to view the transaction in detail to see if there is a file attached. For example if a client has entered a bill and uploaded a tax invoice and attached it to the bill, when I run an Account Transaction report, I can see that there is a file attached. I would not need to view the transaction to check this. The other idea is if I could somehow view all uploaded files for a particular period of time regardless of what transaction they are attached to, it would save me time searching for the file.

Client needs to see a list of spend money expense transactions that are missing the supporting documents attached - like in the bills screen with the icon at the righthand side. suggest a column with similar icon in the account transactions report.

Its amazing this issue has been raised years ago yet no update regarding it. This will be a useful tool in auditing financials and proper bookkeeping

This is critical for auditing. QBO can do it, Xero - please!

I don't believe anyone reads these suggestions.
A pity because many are pure gold. -

All you need is another column in Account Transactions - there's already 234 columns to select ha! Also recommend you implement this, or just delete the voting, it's been 2.5 years since this was first suggested...

This would be so useful - if this was possible, it would be easy to treat bank transactions the way you know they should be treated even without backup, but then you would have an easy way to check what transactions need invoices/receipts afterwards. Vital for bookkeepers who need to finalise postings ASAP but may not receive the necessary backup from customers until a later date. Please consider!

This is such an imperative part of record keeping, I'm surprised to find out there isn't a report that supports this feature for compliance

I am trying to prepare for an audit and would like to review my transactions and identify any that do not have supporting documentation so that it can be corrected. Having a report would be hugely beneficial and efficient.
After contacting Xero support and finding out this report does not exist I dread the time I will have to take reviewing each transaction line to ensure supporting documents are attached, to be ready for audit.
I would greatly appreciate this report being created.

Hello,
I just wanted to see how many transactions are missing attachments and noticed there is no report available.
I think it's very important assuming that you need proof for every VAT claimed. This kind report will be very useful to track transactions with missing attachments.
Kind regards,
Snezhina
