Reporting - File Attachment Report
Ability to show attached documents in Reporting.
Purpose: To provide clients to see the list of transactions which also show the attachment for each transaction.

agree with all the below. One thing I have noticed - for UK companies, in the VAT return section the supporting tabs "transactions by VAT box" and "transactions by tax rate" do already include exactly this functionality. Just annoying that it can't be added to other reports

The "new" accounting reports have great flexibility and are very useful. But there is no "Has Attachments" option in the column selection area. That would be a game changer for me, to be able at a glance to see what documents need uploading.

Could you please post how to do this? My current Account Transaction report does not allow me to add columns and the available column listing does not include attachments.

Simply add an extra column in the new reports system called "Has attachments" with an answer of 0, 1 2 etc.
Then most reports can see if documents are attached to the transaction. Critical today. -

I have to go into every spend money transaction multiple times to identify which ones are missing receipts. This doesn't make sense to me from a workflow perspective, and it seems that attachments would be simple to add as a report column, to show me which ones are missing.

Extremely important to track transactions that require backup. If it is possible to obtain a report that indicates if an attachment is available for a transaction, whether through an additional column added to the account transactions report or through a separate report, would be extremely helpful. Currently following a tedious process of going over each transaction and identifying/marking down transactions with missing support.

It would be great to be able to run a report to send a client showing all expense items or purchases that do not have a supporting document attached. eg receipt or invoice

Super important. I spend a lot of time analysing transactions on the Account Transaction screen to see which are missing. It's hard to see since this also has Sales Invoice and Bill transactions.

Please develop such a report! It would be such a time saver. I'm preparing y.e. accounts for audit, and it is such a tedious process going back over all the 2021 transactions to see where support documentation is missing.

Yes, this is totally what I am looking for too. I often look for files / invoices from clients but don't always know if they have attached the receipt or not and waste a lot of time searching for them. This would be a great time saver, so I can easily see what clients have provided. (I notice there are few other ideas submitted with the same request - so in total a lot more votes than what is just on this idea).

A column to show a file icon or just show the file icon for a particular transaction would be very useful.

I would like to be able to see if a Xero data file has had a file uploaded and attached to a transaction. If a column could be added to the Account Transactions Report, to show if a file is linked to a particular transaction, I would not need to view the transaction in detail to see if there is a file attached. For example if a client has entered a bill and uploaded a tax invoice and attached it to the bill, when I run an Account Transaction report, I can see that there is a file attached. I could not need to view the transaction to check this. The other idea is if I could somehow view all uploaded files for a particular period of time regardless of what transaction they are attached to, it would save me time searching for the file.

Absolutely believe this should have been done sometime ago itself. Considering the request was raised in 2016. This will save immense time in going back and forth and checking each and every transaction. Especially with bigger clients.

Would be useful to run a report of all reconciled items that do not have a receipt/invoice/etc attached to it. I would run this at the end of each month or quarter to make sure I have copies of all the paperwork attached each transaction. My accountant might even take me out to lunch if I achieved this!!
This is particularly useful for small operators and people working in completely paperless environment. Bookkeepers would run this report and send it back to the client and tell them to find these receipts invoices etc.

ideally it would be great if the report could show those with / without attachment
or if it were possible to add columns to the XERO View "bills to pay" as ths does show attachment / no attachement but it woul be useful to extra colums
