This report will need to catch cash receipt and invoice payments with the proper format of the CCC donation receipts please.

We need this in the United States as well.

This year-end donation receipts should be added as additional functionality in XERO

That time of the year when everyone is wanting annual donation receipts.
Currently I seem to be only able to receipt each individual donation. Some of our amazing donors have weekly AP's set up for $5 or $10. They don't want 52 individual receipts sent to them.

Xero do you have a solution in place?

Has there been any progress on this feature?

These are the requirements from IRD for Donation Tax Receipts:

1. An official stamp or letterhead and the full name of the organisation.
Where the local organisation is part of a larger group or organisation, please provide clear reference to this on the receipt. For example, 'Relief of Poverty Foundation, Wellington Branch'.

2. The following identifiers for the organisation:
a) the DIA-Charities Services registration number, and
b) its IRD number

3. A clear statement that the amount received is a donation. Exclude membership subscriptions or fees, purchases of goods or services and raffle tickets as they do not qualify for donation tax credits.
Where the donation is stock or other goods, the receipt must clearly indicate that it was not a cash donation as they do not qualify for donation tax credits.

4. The full name of the donor and their address if held

5. The full amount and date of the donation (or if there were regular payments throughout the year you may show the total amount for the income year ending 31 March)

6. The full name, designation (for example, Treasurer, Secretary), and signature of an authorised
person

7. A receipt number, unique to each receipt.

Donation receipt from a 'receive money' transaction (not an invoice) would be fantastic. As we do not always invoice for donations.

As mentioned already adding a signature to a donation receipt is required please. It would be good to be able to issue a donation receipt when money is received from a donor. Donations are not necessarily paid on invoice

To create a seamless donation receipting process within Xero would be very helpful.

The ability to add a signature to the current donation receipt would be extremely helpful.

This is not just an NZ issue - we need it for Australia too. I need to send an annual receipt/statement of all donations that have been received from each donor. Its really difficult to do this in Xero. To be able to run an annual statement for each customer with all the payments that they've made and just to be able to choose the GL accounts that I want - that would be amazing!

As a charity that uses Xero, this would be very helpful when generating EoY donation tax receipts to be able to create one invoice with all the donations already totalled and ready to be receipted in one click as we can already do for single donation receipts.

I agree with you all, we encourage our members to make monthly donations, it would be great to have a summary tax receipt for the financial year, better for the donor as well.

Otherwise I need to do manual receipts outside Xero. This must be a common issue

I need to issue donation receipts. By law in NZ this needs to have a signature on it. It would be useful to have the option in a receipt template to put a signature. Donation receipts need both a company logo and a signature.

We need a way to send a donation receipt that does not include other items purchased in the same transaction.

Even better we need to send a whole list of donation receipts received during the financial year in one bulk process.

This is critical for charities in NZ. We should also be able to customise the receipt template so IRD compliant receipts can be issued rather than manually creating them as we do now.

Is anything likely to be done about this? The charity I represent receives pays for Xero yet I still have to manually issue donation receipts. Part of the selling point from me for replacing the spreadsheet was that it would save time. This is one way that we could do that.

I am trying to run a report for a customer for her small cash donations for the current financial year.
I have a response from Pat, he believes Xero does not have a bulk send functionality option to do this.
I think it will be a good idea!
