Customer Statements - Ageing (30, 60, 90days)
It would be great if we could add ageing on client/customer statements. (Current, 30, 60, 90 days) Many clients have requested that the ageing be displayed on their statements. Current, overdue and total isn't detailed enough..

Hi everybody, coming across from the previous forums we know this idea has a lot of interest.
There is a way of using Xero's reports to accomplish what you're asking here and save the format so you can easily access and send this report to your customers outside of Xero.
Running the Aged Receivables detail report you can choose how many ageing periods you'd like to show and set the period to '30 days'. Simply Filter the report by Contact and Update to run.
- Once you've got it set up, save as Custom so you can easily access this format anytime
- If you deal with groups of contacts this also means you could Filter for multiple contacts to combine the view into one report rather than multiple customer statements 🙂
- Export the report to PDF, where you can send to customers from your email system outside of Xero
We appreciate the one element missing is the ability to send from in Xero, but to be open and upfront we don't have direct plans for making this change within customer statements in the foreseeable future. Thanks

You can't call yourself accounting software if you don't feature these very basic requirements. Sot it out Xero! your subscription prices are high enough to be covering this simple request. I can't work out how no-one thought this kind of information would be needed on a statement. I reckon it was a very long meeting and all the designers got bored and just thought sod it we're off to the beach.

I think we have reached a point where you have to decide if you are going to leave Xero or stay without this feature. They are not going to add it and the Xero Partner I have spoken to has confirmed as much. As someone who came from Sage Accounting, I am going back. The Xero subscription prices are way too expensive for us to be begging for a feature that is industry standard. I no longer believe that I am getting value for my money when I can get the functionality I want from Sage and at half the cost, including Payroll. Sometimes the best way is to let your money do the talking because listening to the customer is not a Xero strength.

Please develop this feature, it is really an issue, I have clients who want to move away from Xero because of this

when creating a custom month-end statement layout for our customers it would be great to have the opportunity to show the current balances of previous months 30/60/90 days. many other packages allow this and it is often requested by our customers for clarity see attachment for example. There is currently no fields that can be added to the layout that would do this.

It's a crucial feature to have, and hope Xero would implement this at soonest possible.
Also customers would only pay if they see their PO number next to the invoice in the Statement. Yet another feature that's is crusial, but Xero has yet to implement the PO number field in the Invoices.

Hi Xero,
Customer Statements - Ageing (30, 60, 90 days) is a standard Bookkeeping Feature.
Please add this Urgently. I do not understand how Xero does not see this as being an Important feature.

This is a basic functionality required for credit control and you should able to send customer statements showing ageing debt and what is owed without this work around which isnt clear the balance now due

This functionality is crucial as it impacts collectibility. I'm wondering why Xero has not taken action on it yet??

Hi Xero, please can you add this, we are paying for the full package and I cannot believe that this (Customer Statements - Ageing (30, 60, 90days)) is not featured.

I think Kelly from Xero missed the point here. The request is to have an agent analysis appear on customer individual statement when the statements are generated and emailed to customers at the end of a billing period.
The workaround Kelly has given is to generate an overall ageing analysis report. How is this even related??
-
Sergio Congia commented
This workaround suggested by Kelly is not feasible. The age big needs to show in all statements that are generated and sent to customers and should be past of the statement template somehow

This is a standard feature for accounting software. We should not ask to be added to it. Instead, we should look into software that offers everything necessary to run our business. Hopefully, Xero will understand how important it is to have it available.

Ageing on customer statements please

It's embarrassing that Xero can't offer aging periods on statements automatically. Please develop this feature

Why don't they fix this. Think this speaks volumes about Xero.
This feature is normal practice in business around the world and most other Sofware.
The customer statement is only a report and not really part of Xero so should be a case of just tweaking the report not much work probably less than an afternoon for a competent person. Unless the way they have the database se up in the background is flawed and means the information is not accurate. If that's the case roll your sleeves up and fix it.
Don't know what you have this you guys seem to know better and in most case take no notice -

@Lara. Xero made it clear that they are not planning this very important feature although it has been upvoted and subsequently stopped all votes. They want you to use third party apps you have to pay additionally for, although the Xero subscription is not cheap at all. So, take it from me, they will not implement high voted (standard on other software) but will look at less important features.

This feature is a basic requirement of Customer Statements. Why would you not have a direct plan for making this change in customer statements? The idea has alot of interest for a reason.
The Vote button isn't available for me to select it. Could Xero please correct this so you can see a true representation of how in demand this request would be.

We need an aging function on monthly statements. This issue is creating major problems and creating unnecessary manual work and confusion .
-
Adrienne Molloy commented
Having an aging function on monthly statements is a no-brainer. Surely Xero users have the right to expect such a simple function on their statements. Having a manual solution is not a solution!

Airspace Solutions commented
This is ridiculous that it is not possible to automate monthly statements to customers, what a waste of time, Xero needs to get up to speed with technology, the "alternatives" provided are not sustainable and require manual intervention. You increase your fees yet can't provide features that are actually useful to your customers...??
