Projects Reporting - Include tracking
Projects - ability to use tracking categories when using the project reporting. At present when project data is entered into xero there is no report that can be filtered using tracking categories

This would be great if you could add, its currently impossible to code things like materials and plant by the big categories e.g. concrete costs, and track them in the project without creating a whole new category

In tracking summary we can compare revenue and cost if we are using the tracking category as a cost center for any EPC work. Right now there is no option in xero for this reporting.
In the attached file we have details of cost of sales but no revenue details for the specific job. We can add a column or give a option in the layout edit to add the ledger or group in column to compare.
It would be helpful to track the revenue and cost of a project with this feature.

Full support. All of the info is in there to do a P&L on a project. Please add a filter in the P&L report based on project code / name, the existing project details report is not organized in a format that's helpful.

Absolutely! Tracking a project by time against budget is fundamental.

This seems like a no brainer to me given that you have tracking codes available. People don't only want to look at what's actually been billed to a team/department but also what they are currently working on. it shouldn't need an additional app with additional costs to be able to do this - you have all the information in the system. If some of these very simple things cannot be put into place then i think we will have outgrown xero and will be moving to pastures new, which is a shame

I would like to have a list of all payments made in a period of time filtered by Department name/ project name. I can't only find the information if the invoice is posted to a Department. If it is posted to a Project, there is no possible report of cash paid to be extracted from Xero.

When using either Xero Projects or WorkFlowMax, there should be the ability to report jobs by tracking code. The tracking code one is used to group jobs by Division or Profit Centre and management want to be able to look at profitability at Tracking Code level and then drill down to identify the jobs that are not profitable. tracking code is used for, say, location and again, management want to be able to report on jobs within location. This is essential to being able to efficiently manage profitability.

Being able to run an uncategorized report on Projects (like tracking categories) would allow us to more easily see expenses that have been left out in error.
Being able to use the Recode tool for Projects would allow us to more easily fix errors.
Without these two features, Projects is of limited use, as there is no easy way to reconcile differences and fix errors.

I feel there needs to be better reporting and project allocation on this software. Most businesses want to track what each project is 'looking like'. There needs to be P&L options per project/ a group of projects/ all projects.
I would say this is urgent, as we can't be the only management team looking at moving all our companies away from Xero because of the lack of project costing/ reporting.
