Hi community, some time passed since our last update in the thread here we do want to return and share - while our product teams explored possibilities for how we might represent Purchase Orders in Projects research has confirmed that there is underlying work needed to the platform Purchase Orders are built on before we can achieve any good outcomes of your needs here.
We have enthusiasm and a close eye remaining on the support for this, but want to be honest that this is not something that we’ll be able to focus our attentions on in the near future.
Once we have completed work first needed in the Purchase Orders space we can reassess how to integrate purchase Orders into Projects and will update you all of steps forward, here.An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Lee-Ann casbard commentedChristie Van der Beeke, whilst i appreciate what you are saying, the issue is that we need the reference box to tie it back to our projects. There is a important need for most of the Xero users

We appreciate users wanting more flexibility in the data they show on invoices. At present our teams are re-developing some of the base features across Sales with particular focus on new invoicing.
At this time, there are no plans for developing a fields for a PO number in invoicing. Focus is on existing features in invoicing.
It's good to get a renewed understanding of interest here on Product Ideas, and if there's any news we will update on this here.In the meantime, there is a way the custom template can be edited to rename the Reference field as a 'Purchase Order Number' field - see more in the discussion here.

Hi community, we appreciate this idea has collected a fair amount of interest which has all been shared with and reviewed by the product team.
While this isn't currently being worked on there are other ideas this team are working on right now, including a bulk void feature and highlighting rows when selected. Although these features are still under development process and we don't have confirmed release dates yet.
With regards to having a separate field for the posting date and invoice date, our team is interested in better understanding this idea as it may be something they look to develop down the track. They really appreciate and encourage you to continue to share your experiences, pain points and insights. This will help them understand how this feature can benefit you and other customers, as well as gauge demand for it.
As always, if there's any change we will…

Hi Wojciech, if an invoice or bill has already been paid there is no amount left outstanding for the invoice. It sounds like you'd like the ability to easily copy the detail of an invoice to a credit note? I've slightly updated the title of your idea here, for this.
If this doesn't quite reflect it'd be great to get more detail of scenarios you'd in which your business receives a credit note for a completely paid invoice or bill.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lee-Ann casbard commentedIt would be extremely useful if you could assign a project manager to a project. At the moment there is no way to filter projects by a person and you have to trawl through each and every one to get information.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lee-Ann casbard commentedThis seems like a no brainer to me given that you have tracking codes available. People don't only want to look at what's actually been billed to a team/department but also what they are currently working on. it shouldn't need an additional app with additional costs to be able to do this - you have all the information in the system. If some of these very simple things cannot be put into place then i think we will have outgrown xero and will be moving to pastures new, which is a shame

An error occurred while saving the comment Lee-Ann casbard commentedWhen is this going to be done??? It's taking far too long to add something so simple - the data is in Xero somewhere it's just impossible to extract. This leads to convoluted processes in-house having to be created. It's simple things like this that will lead us to change from Xero to something more user-friendly in terms of reporting.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lee-Ann casbard commentedThe reporting you can do on your clients seems to be very limited and restricted. This business critical for efficient management of debtors - why is it taking so long????
So we are almost a year past your update - is there any further update? This causes us issues on both sides - one being able to track our own PO's/spending on projects - but also in invoicing having a specific PO field to enter client purchase orders in - I would also suggest that on a project level you have an element (like you do on client set up) that lets you put in a PO number and it's value and then you could draw down against this with alerts when nearing the end etc. this really shouldn't be too difficult for you to implement
