NZ and AU Payroll - Send link for easy onboarding of new employees

Send a link to on board new employees info ie TFN, bank accounts, super account and all personal particulars to get them ready for a pay run.

Hey everyone, as a first off we'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that filled in their details and engaged with our teams research in this space.

I'm pleased to return with a further update for you all.

We have been developing the capability fir employees to self onboard to Xero Payroll. Our feature would enable employees to enter their own onboarding details via a secure web form. Giving payroll admins back more time to focus on more important tasks.

We want to be upfront that the intention is to release this in the Australian version of Xero Payroll first, with NZ and UK to follow. We will keep you up to date of the release here. 😊

    Employee Self Onboarding-ability to send a new employee and email invitation to complete their details directly into Xero (same as MYOB). Details such as:
    -Address
    -Emergency contact
    -TFN and other relevant tax information
    -Bank account details
    -Superannuation details

    XERO - This should be a priority. You are behind in the market without this feature. If other accounting software have it like MYOB as a standard, this should already be in Beta testing. Disappointing if it is not.
    It should not be that difficult to provide. You would increase your market share, if this feature was included. It is a must have for most small to medium companies with payroll admin looking to move to XERO.

    This is desperately needed to deal with the secure transmission of TFNs, which is highly problematic. MYOB's acquisition of Flare and integration of an onboarding feature set into the software was a great move on their part. It's essential that the payroll admin can continue editing the employee and potentially paying the employee before the employee has provided their TFN or super fund details.

    Unusual for MYOB to be ahead of Xero in one aspect for a change
    Come on Xero, help Payroll admins out with an easy onboarding link in payroll

    Include self onboarding for new staff members, via an email link, to complete and submit their details which are directly imported to the employee fields to inlcude contact details, emergency contacts, TFN and Super details, and banking details for payruns etc

    I'm looking to switch from MYOB to Xero and this is the only thing holding back my decision. It is such a great feature and as I do the payroll for my business and not much more, whatever saves me time influences my decision most.

    employee onboarding:
    MYOB has a great new feature where the employer sends an email to the new employee, and it has all of the compulsory items must be filled out by the employee before it can be sent back to the employer. Does Xero do this? If not it is a great idea. It stops the time consuming and back/forth comms before the employee is onboarded.

    I would have to agree with Alana below! After using MYOB for nearly 8 years the onboarding feature is a dream! It is definitely one thing I miss not using now. It makes life so much easier to add new employees. Less paperwork for everyone and a dream for the payroll department. This feature in Xero would be amazing. Please add ASAP! :)

    Self Employee on-boarding is a must. MYOB have advanced in this department and it is fabulous. It takes away paper and is all under employees profile. Its quick and easy for a HR department and also employees. Please get this happening in Xero ASAP.

    The old paper mechanism, even by email, is so outdated and insecure we need it to be modernised
