Hi everyone, we're doing some research on managing employees, particularly looking at our customer's experiences onboarding new hires and setting them up in payroll.
We'd love to get input from our community here that we know have a vested interest, and we'd really appreciate your time.

Employee Self Onboarding-ability to send a new employee and email invitation to complete their details directly into Xero (same as MYOB). Details such as:
-Address
-Emergency contact
-TFN and other relevant tax information
-Bank account details
-Superannuation details -

Hey everyone, we thank you for the detailed feedback on improving how leave requests work for part-time employees in Australian payroll.
We understand the value of shifting the task of adjusting hours to employees, freeing up payroll administrators’ time for other priorities and we also appreciate the points raised around accuracy and compliance.
While we don’t have current plans to deliver exactly what’s been suggested here, our product team is continuing to focus on developing working patterns within AU Payroll. Based on what we’ve seen in other regions, this'll likely address many of the needs discussed here.
We’ll move this idea to Not in pipeline for now, but we’ll keep you posted on any updates that could help achieve what’s being asked.

Leave to be able to be processed in a pay run and update leave balance without previously being entered and approved via the leave requests.
We have a separate leave approval process in our business so then having to re-enter in leave requests for it to then process correctly in the payroll is extra handling.
Would like to have the option to enter leave hours at the point of payroll processing and it automatically update the normal hours to be paid in the pay run and also update the accrued leave balance.Liane Coles supported this idea ·

Thanks for the great discussion and all the votes on this idea. We know that without the ability to set specific leave approvers, it can be harder to keep governance clear, avoid self-approval and ensure requests go to the right person.
While we’re not planning to develop dedicated approval workflows in the near term, we want to share a tip that many have found useful. You can help streamline the process by guiding employees to select their direct manager from the approver list. While all payroll admins and leave approvers are listed, this step helps make sure requests reach the right person and keeps oversight clear.
Your feedback here is incredibly valuable for future planning and we’ll continue to keep an eye on this idea’s traction. We’ll keep it open for voting and will share any updates if plans change down the track.

Hi everyone, appreciate we haven't engaged directly in this idea sooner and reading through the detail of the original post here we do want to break this down a little to provide more clarity.
It's correct that currently it's not possible to enter a number of hours leave if the request spans more than a day. We have another idea that's gathering support around this and we'd urge those interested in this to join.
Similarly, we have another idea based around the permission to approve or decline leave request and provide read-only access to Payroll reports that you can support, here.
Understanding the importance around being able to see history of events in payroll, you may have noticed we've rolled out payroll history to the employee record-level and most recently you can now see a history of user activity in the Organisation, Calendars, Pay Items, Superannuation & STP Settings…
