NZ Payroll - leave requests and approval while processing pay runs
Currently leave requests must be approved before the relevant pay run is commenced.
If we discover that leave needs to be added at any point after the pay run is commenced, the entire pay run must be deleted, along with any progress made.
When processing payroll for businesses, I occasionally discover leave should be included only while I'm actually processing the pay run.
I'd like to have a clone of the leave creation UI as an option while within the pay run process itself. This would show leave balances for the employee, and only have an option to Approve or cancel.
Any leave additions that are made and fall within a draft pay run period should be included in that pay run.
This would cover leave added within the pay run, but also leave added through Xero Me or other parts of the UI.

Leave to be able to be processed in a pay run and update leave balance without previously being entered and approved via the leave requests.
We have a separate leave approval process in our business so then having to re-enter in leave requests for it to then process correctly in the payroll is extra handling.
Would like to have the option to enter leave hours at the point of payroll processing and it automatically update the normal hours to be paid in the pay run and also update the accrued leave balance. -

Liz has it sorted. Thanks for that tip - embarrassing for me to learn it in the Ideas area.
So the first part of this Idea isn't correct, but I'd still like the UI request: to be able to enter leave while processing a pay run.

There's no need to delete the entire payroll. Just untick the people that need leave adding/approving. Make the leave adjustments then tick them back into the payroll.
