Trial Balance - Ability to see current month figure along with YTD

The ability to see current month figures together with year to date on a trial balance report. This was possible on the old version of the trial balance but not on the new version.

Taking on board feedback, and considering some of the changes we've made across reporting recently we wanted to highlight the General Ledger Summary report that can be set up to meet your needs here. 🙂

You can set up the new General Ledger Summary report to run for a 'Month' date range, and select to include Opening and Closing balances.

With this run, Debit and Credit columns will only show the movement within the period, while the closing balance will be the YTD figure for the account (showing as positive or negative).

If you find this handy, you can save it as a Custom report rather than having to set up the layout each time you'd like to run the report.

    It will cost me time and money if it is not available when the old trial balance dissapear.

    Absolutely Critical!
    Please revise the new report to include month figures.
    At the moment the options Xero support has provided is very time consuming.

    Please add this, you cannot take away the old reporting in June 2023 and not have a replacement in the new reporting tools

    Critical to reporting to clients. Cannot understand why it is not on the new version as this new version cannot be described as an improvement.
    Maybe also have the option to change a layout of a TB as per the P&L and Balance Sheet

    This is absolutely critical to our reporting, I can't understand why it's being withdrawn in the first place, to increase usage of partner apps? Surely it doesn't need that much development to add the option of monthly transaction columns to the new & "improved" report.

    This is absolutely critical and crucial. I rely on the old version of the TB on a daily basis mostly due to the current month's debits and credits. Also, being able to easily drill into the month's transactions by clicking on an amount is absolutely essential. Please maintain this functionality in the new reports. I would be seriously negatively impacted without it.

    Agree this option needs to remain in the new layout, for my clients it's very helpful to see the MTD as well as YTD in there reporting

    This is correct! It should have worked the way it always has!

    It is just a work around suggestion at the mean time

    Please, please, please can you go back to the old TB layout, where you show Debit and Credit on the TB as well as the YTD numbers. This is critical to easily being able to monitor and review movements, and it is a really awful amendment that you've made to take this out.

    I also agree that the TB must include the option of YTD as well as for a Current Month. As accountants we use information in many different formats, and a TB is a perfect go to place for a summary.
