Sales Tax Audit Report - Include Customer Tax ID numbers
VAT reporting in the EU includes ICP reporting for sales to other EU countries (aka pre-Brexit EC Sales reporting). Part of the reporting requirement is to supply the customers VAT number on the ICP return. The customers VAT number is supplied at the time of invoicing and is included on the invoice and in the customer contact details so is an existing field in Xero. To meet the ICP reporting requirements, every invoice is opened manually to find the customers VAT number which is entered against each customer on an export of the Sales Tax Audit Report spreadsheet off Xero, a very time consuming task.

Report should say VAT Tax Report not Sales Tax Report, sales Tax not related to Oman and any of our operations, currently we have modify the report before we can send it Oman Tax Office Plus
Globally, countries use different types of consumption taxes—mainly VAT (Value Added Tax), GST (Goods and Services Tax), and sales tax—depending on their legal and economic systems. Here's a breakdown:
1. Countries Using VAT
More than 160 countries use a VAT system.
VAT is the most common form of consumption tax worldwide.
Widely used in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and parts of the Middle East.
Notable VAT users: EU countries, China, Russia, Brazil (in complex form), South Africa, UAE.2. Countries Using GST
GST is a type of VAT, used in about 10–15 countries, typically named differently but functionally similar.
GST systems are common in federal countries where tax is collected at both central and state/provincial levels.
Notable GST users:
Australia
Canada (combined with PST/HST)
India (multi-tiered GST)
New Zealand
Singapore
Malaysia (implemented, then repealed in 2018)3. Countries Using Sales Tax
Fewer than 30 countries use a retail sales tax.
Primarily found in the United States, where it's applied at the state level (no federal VAT/GST).
Also used in a few smaller jurisdictions like some Caribbean islands. -

As I have already explained several times to the Xero Support Team, the fact that the report did not contain the VAT ID information is very serious for the purpose that the report itself proposes. An optimization at this point, when it will be done because I expect it to be done, could be to also be able to GROUP by period total the value related to that VAT number. For example, if there are two invoices linked to a VAT number in the report it proposes the total.

Good afternoon from Fiji. I cannot mark the case as resolved as there are no dates provided as to when this "idea" and suggestion will be incorporated? Our Fiji tax office requires us to submit our suppliers TIN and it is a hugely manually process to extract this information manually and update our bill payments.

Crucial to use Xero for any company in the EU.
We use Xero in many countries but for EU this is the only threshold for moving to Xero -

As per support's response to this sqame question I fired at them it is because they are more prioritising those ideas that have more people voting for the idea.
Please read below response from Xero support.

Hi EnriqueI appreciate where you are coming from and understand the importance of this to you.
We’re sorry you feel this way, but can assure you we're listening to your suggestions as we're committed to improving Xero for all users.
We receive large volumes of wide ranging requests from our customers, which are all regularly reviewed, analysed and prioritised by our product team.
A rarely submitted feature request might be superb and very valuable but may be competing against a common request that may be perceived to be less valuable. We do try to take all elements into consideration.
The reason we don't make our Development Plan public is so that we can retain flexibility regarding features included in releases. We do mention some planned features on our blog, but as others are more susceptible to change, we'd rather under-promise and over-deliver than vice versa.
We really hope you understand the complexities involved and don't feel we're ignoring you even though the features you've requested aren't immediately included. We also hope you continue to submit your feedback, suggestions, frustrations and comments as this really does help us to improve Xero.
Thank you again for your feedback.
Kind regards
Sami

I ask you for the possibility of inserting into the actual report only the item "VAT or TAX NUMBER" in the print box (SEE ATTACHMENT)
I think it is a simple thing and it is a big shortcoming that a repository for managing VAT does not have the customer's VAT field.
Currently, as an alternative, I am using the "Reference" field but I have to report everything by hand with great discomfort.Sales Tax Report - Sales Tax Audit Report

This will eliminate a lot of the manual work of inputting the VAT reference.
