Budgets - Order by GL account number
The ability to do budgets by GL account number. It's very perplexing this is not available today!

All of our accounts, reports and details are ordered by account number. Even when we export this to excel, the account number is part of the name and so the budget has to be manually sorted into account number - tiresome waste of time!!! Please, please, please fix this.

..come on guys, how hard can this be!
The standard layout is a mess. -

I am also looking at being able to sort the accounts.

Budget Manager should have an option to sort accounts by account number rather than alphabetically. It would make entry a lot simpler

We had to eventually purchase a monthly bolt on - Spotlight. Not perfect but better than Xero. We still have to manually capture in Excel then import into Spotlight, and eventually to Xero. Shocking really.

Makes the budget import template useless without this

Makes no sense at all that you can order balance sheet and P&L reports by account codes (and hide accounts that aren't used) but you can't do this in the budget report!! Very frustrating

I echo all the points made.
Another example of the dumbing down of accounts function and general belief of non-accountant software programmers that numbers are difficult for non-accounts people. They are not.
What's the point of account numbers if not be able to sort by them?
This seems like and easy and basic thing to correct.I would like to be able to hide the accounts that aren't used by all the budgets I have.
There should be an option for follow the custom P&L format.

To sort by account code is important - seems an obvious requirement

Fully agree and would like to be able to hide the accounts that aren't used by all the budgets I have.

Fully agree - I believe this is the only GL report that cannot be sorted by account number or aligned with a custom P&L format via the edit layout function....why?!?!
-
Kylie Harder commented
Agree, and also the budget uploads should include cents. When importing from excel or other documents, it cuts them off - it means reports do not match
-
Tiphanie Acreman commented
I agree - this needs to be done ASAP

Any updates? Is this on a list to be fixed?
-
Mindy Jacoby commented
How has this not been fixed or added yet!! It is common in the accounting world to go by account number not account name. Who wants to look at it by ABC order and not by functional area, which is why numbers are used. Please fix ASAP!!

I couldn't agree more. Same with designing the reports - it is unhelpful
