Contact | Note that Purchase Order Required
The ability to flag a customer as "purchase order required". We have a growing number of customers who won't pay us unless we put a purchase order reference on the invoice. It would be good if we can have a flag in the customer that says they require a PO and therefore when we raise an invoice to them it pops up a reminder message.
Appreciate the feedback here, everyone. As noted in my last update - we released a notes feature in the contact record that enables you to add editable notes (up to 4000 characters) that are visible when viewing the contacts record.
At this stage, we don't have any plans around pop up notes similar to what's being asked on this idea, however understand this is really what's needed to help solve for your idea here.
For now, we'll shift the idea back to submitted and continue to track the interest. If there are any other developments that could help achieve what you're asking we'll share this with you all, here.

It would be great if Xero had the ability to be able to flag a customer as requiring a purchase order first before an invoice is raised.

This goes some way to help but it relies on looking for the note which could easily be missed if you're quickly raising invoices. It would be great if there could be a tick box in the Customer record that signals that a PO or reference number is required, so invoices can't be saved or sent without this being included.

This does not work.
I have added a note in the Contact to say "Requires PO" and when I create an invoice, I cannot see a note at all - even when I just click on the customer name in the "To" box, the note does not show.
What is the point of the Notes section if you cant see any of the notes without going into the customer, and then clicking edit? The notes section does not show on the new Contact page, or any of the quick tabs - it just shows contact information.
A suggestion would be a pop up box when you go to approve/email the invoice that it needs a PO which would correlate to a tick box within the customer contact.
Very disappointed, and don't see the Notes section as an outcome to this idea at all.

Feedback - This doesn't achieve the desired goal.... Yes there is a note section but the only place you can view the note is by going to the contact itself which is so time consuming. So XERO is expecting you to go and check a contact card everytime before issuing an invoice or paying a bill ??? It would be much better if we could select certain notes to always popup when making an invoice or viewing a bill.
So instead of ONLY one note section we need the ability to add multiple notes and a check box and selection tool where you can customise where and when the note popups.
The XERO team is on the right track but has not allowed for any customisation or usability with the new feature.
