Sales invoices - Download all invoices
To be able to bulk download invoices for a client or multiple clients.
With also the ability to filter to all invoices, paid invoices and not paid invoices.
Hi Amy, could you give a bit more detail on what this would help you do, or is there a specific format you'd be looking to download invoices in?
Currently, you can export invoices from Xero and would be able to filter these in exported CSV file, or can do a search to do this before exporting - More on this here

Exporting Invoices is really poor.
1. If you select multiple transactions, it just combines them into one big pdf.
a. If you select multiple transactions it should default to exporting individual ones
b. It should automatically name them without having to agree to the name. Anyone looking for the file will be looking for the invoice number so why do all the extra clicks?
2. It then names that file by the first document chosen
3. Every time you export an individual document it asks which folder you want to import it in:
a. There should be a default path setting so that you can point and click and save
b. Have the option to change path, not the other way around
c. This would save a lot of time.
4. If there was a default path you could have automatically Paid, Unpaid and Credited folders
5. The credit note file name should have the Invoice Number as well as the credit note number in the file name.
6. Because you have to scroll down the ledger to select an individual invoice, once you pass 25 or 30 documents, every time you select one you have to scroll all the way up to the top of the page to click ‘Print’. This just makes me annoyed and I curse the developers.
a. Either have the Print toolbar scroll with you or
b. Put a ‘Back to Top’ button and scroll to the selected button so you can quickly move on to the tedious task of printing hundreds of individual files.
Conclusion: I suspect many customers have not tried to export masses of invoices or they would be screaming/ Developers have added these features and not really tested exporting hundreds of files one at a time or they would have done something about it.
The real question is why would you want to export hundreds of invoices at a time?
1. To import into a document management system
2. In our case against patient records
3. To do an audit, reconciling the credit notes against the invoice number would really help
This is an incredibly tedious and costly process and not in line with ‘Beautiful Business’ in fact it is a rather ugly business.
