Sales Invoice - Show associated Project name on the invoice
Currently, while raising the invoice, it is not possible to show the project names in the invoice above the works done. The works indicated in the invoice should be linked to the project and this project name should be shown in the invoice.

commentedI agree with this. All our sales invoices are linked to a project so its crucial the project name/number is showing on the invoice

commentedThis seems like a bare minimum function.

commentedPlease add this. At the very least, allow us to add a Custom Field or "Project" field and manually insert a project name.

commentedIt is expected and essential that project name is included when a project invoice is created! Our customers have multiple projects, invoiced separately.

commentedI support this request. Can Xero enable the quote tile from accepted quotations be transferred to Invoices automatically when quote is converted to Invoice? This saves time and eliminates confusion with our clients.

commentedI agree. I contract to a large entity across multiple projects and they require my invoice to be split across each project. Would be a huge timesaver for me if we could choose project as a field to display on the invoices.

commentedUnbelievable that something this basic doesn’t already exist. Seems to be a theme with Xero :(

commentedWhen I create draft invoices in ProWorkFlow, and then send them to Xero for finalisations, the project name appears on my invoice.
I am now experimenting with Xero Projects, in hope that it will be a one-stop-shop for timekeeping and invoicing. But I am disappointed to find, as indicated by others, that invoices created directly from Projects do not contain the project name on them. If is is possible for PWF-origin invoices created in Xero, it should be possible for the native invoices.

commentedThis is very important for us also. We are keen to move to Xero but would need this function.

commentedThis would be very helpful. Obviously the data is there, the info shows up in the draft invoice in line items. Please add.
The Projects add-on is supposed to be a simple bolt-on without the bells and whistles, but including the name of the project at least an option or placeholder seems like a basic requirement.

commentedA basic lack of functionality here, any business I invoice needs to reconcile invoices to their official purchase order. I run projects with a year lifespan and do my task/hourly based invoices on a monthly basis - and having to manually input the PO/reference is a pain and leaves room for error.

commentedI just posted the same question. It's insane that this hasn't come up as a critical item more often. https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D53m00009b6toqCAA/including-a-project-number-as-a-field-to-a-custom-invoice-template
I've setup custom templates and used the reference as the Purchase order, however when the client will recieve them, the accounts or client won't know what project the PO# relates to and will cause them work to find out and then pay. Insane that this is not a feature. It an easy addition for mailmerge field, as it's already shown on the invoice dashboard.

commentedIf xero doesn't have this option, then I can't use xero it's that critical for me. One of my main clients has a really particular structure for invoicing, I need to customise the invoice to add details like: PROJECT TITLE:
 PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
 PURCHASE ORDER:
 JOB NO:
 SUPPLY DATE:
 INVOICE NUMBER:

commentedI'm going to put this in caps for visibility. THIS FEATURE WAS PREVIOUSLY AVAILABLE, I WAS USING IT FOR OVER A YEAR BEFORE IT WAS REMOVED IN A RECENT UPDATE. The project name is the only place I can list the purchase order number which matches with my client's system; as such I now have dozens of invoices going unpaid because there is no longer a correlation with their system. Why was this removed? It needs to be added back ASAP.

commentedFree open source options for small businesses continue to develop. Lots web hosting companies support templates to deliver these free to use software solutions. Click and run without server admin or command to type… Xero wish to sell the solution not add it for free!
