Profit & Loss | Groups - Display in order of account code (not alphabetical account name order)
In reports - allow accounts to be be shown in number code order rather than in alphabetical account name order when grouped using codes in the edit layout area.
Gotcha, thanks for rounding back, Kieran. Get where you're coming from especially if you often update or add accounts.
We don't have any immediate plans around this but we'll keep an eye out and let you know if there's any plans to change, here.

I agree, When editing a report, dragging and dropping the order I want it to be, is totally ignored in the group on the financials and reverts back to the alphabetical order.
For example - Cash & Cash Equivalents, I want the bank accounts in a certain order, not alphabetical. -

I share this frustration. When I try grouping accounts by code, what shows up on my financial statement appears out of sequence. For example, if I group 7000-7999 and call that Marketing, what might show up on the income statement would be
7321
7125
7214
7111
etc.The major purpose of setting up codes for accounts is to be able to use those account codes in reporting. It's a trivial thing in software to sort by account code, but it's not available to the user in Xero.

Hi Kelly, for example the profit and loss report, I understand that you can drag and drop account codes into different areas, but we like the idea that an account will automatically be allocated to the correct place on the report based on its code (especially when new account codes are added regularly). The only problem we have is that when you use the rule the accounts are displayed in alphabetical order, rather than code order so they do not match our accounts preparation software. Thanks!
