Xero Me - split accounts on expense
Can we have added the ability to split an expense new claim over more than one account from within Xero me, or at least be able to edit this from within Xero once claimed submitted.
Hi team, sorry we've not updated you here sooner. You'll find you can itemise expense claims using the Xero Me app on Android and iOS.
You'll find this option at the top of the screen;
- On Android this looks like an arrow that splits
- On iOS there is the word 'Itemise' followed by an arrow that splits
When you click this option you should see the ability to add multiple items to a single claim where you can set the Account and Tax rate for each item within the claim.
Thanks for sharing on this with us, and contributing to ideas in the forums here.

Has this been updated yet? Some of our clients are also uploading their GST incorrectly due to different GST amounts on the same receipt. Anyway of doing this without submitting two expense claims with the same receipt?

In Australia, imagine the office worker who picked up milk and bikkies for the office kitchen / breakroom and needs reimbursement. Milk is GST free and bikkies have 10% GST.

Expenses - on a single expense receipt there might be different tax rates applied. For example a cup of coffee might have a tax rate of 20% applied but add an almond shot and this can have 0% tax. So, in the UK at least, an ability to split the total amount claimed and apply different tax receipts would be wonderful. At the moment I have 2 submit the expense twice, overwrite the total and apply the correct tax, then match the 2 items with the single bank transaction. Painful.

It would be very helpful to be able to split a submitted expense among multiple customers for recharge. It would also be very helpful to be able to tag those expenses to multiple "clients" or specialty "tracking category".

You can add a line by itemise from the app but you can't add a line in Xero before approving it. This would be useful when the item includes non and VATable amounts. Not everyone expensing items understand the VAT so don't always add an extra line
