Xero Subscription - Increase Invoice limit in Ignite Plan
Invoicing - increase the number of invoices that can be sent on the Ignite Plan or have another plan between the ignite and grow plans that allows more invoices to be sent and bills to be entered without the current extras in the grow plan. The jump up in cost between these plans is too much.
Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback.
A lot of consideration went into the development of our plans and bundled features in order to align with the needs of different small businesses of all sizes and complexities.
To be transparent we'll no longer accept ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures and cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature. While we will move this idea to Feedback, please be assured comments have all been shared with our team internally.

I am a sole-trader and my business has dropped off in the past few years. I am on the Grow plan which is now $75 per month. This is now out of proportion to my income. There are a number of features that I don't use; analytics, payroll (just me so no payroll), cash flow, graphs etc etc. I have been happy with Xero for 2 years now but I cannot afford to pay so much and want to downgrade to Ignite plan. However, as seems to have been an issue for a very long time with no responses from Xero support looking at the numerous comments ....... 5 bills and 20 invoices & quotes (total) is not enough.

I don't think Xero cares less. They seem purely profit driven and have no concern for customer satisfaction. We also pay for features we don't want, but they don't seem at all interested to help small users resolve basic features such as invoice limits. They don't listen to the voice of the customer.

I'd love to have more plan options - currently pay for stuff I don't use, and the cost keeps going up. Very hard for a teeny-tiny 1-person business to keep up.

operating this account for Not for Profit organisation and the invoice limit creates greater problems than necessary. option to pay for additional 20 as a limited option makes sense as previously mentioned.

PLEASE Mr Xero. Listen to the feedback from your little customers and help us out here.
You don't want us to leave Xero for a cheaper and better competitor, do you? We might all be big customers one day. Make the change - you won't regret it!!! -

This idea has been outstanding since January… I’m wondering if the team will ever get to it

Agree with all these comments, as a Sole Trader some months I have more than 5 bills but it is so not worth jumping to the next plan to accommodate. Don't need payroll or analytics but pay for them anyway.
Not sure anyone from Xero is listening but adding my 2c worth. -

I run the accounts for a small charity, the pricing plan for the grow is just too much. Would appreciate an extra few bills a month!

I also am I one man band who only runs my business on a part-time basis. Most of the time, a limit of 20 invoices/month is adequate but in spring, business is busier and the invoice limitation is a problem. I would prefer the invoice limit to be annualised i.e. either 20/month or 240/yr. As a sole operator, I have no need of payroll. Thus, I'd find Xero more useful if I had more invoices available. The step up from Ignite to Grow plan is too big.

I am a one man band and I dont need payroll etc but more invoices/Bills would be great would even be happy to have an "add on" capability for those busy periods i.e Christmas but definitely not cost effective moving up to the next plan as I dont need all the extra stuff just the invoicing.

Totally agree. I'm moving from MYOB to Xero due to the ability to integrate with more apps. This move already means I have to sacrifice the capability of inventory, but as I run the business on the side, there are times where I would be slightly over this quota, but other times when it would be fine.
Why not have a credit system where unused invoice or purchase orders from a slow month could be utilised in busier months or additional credits purchased if required?
As I also need to factor in a 3rd party app to get the features I require as Xero is too simplistic, stepping up to the next plan is too expensive.
This limit is way too small and certainly a critical issue for making the decision to move to Xero or stay with MYOB as it would place me in the next tier for potentially needing to create a few additional transactions per year.
Looking at my average, I think 25-30 invoices and 7-8 purchase orders would be ample, but 20 and 5 is just too small. -

I agree! Xero is really missing a whole segment of it's potential audience who need more invoicing capability but don't have staff/payroll or need things that are on the grow plan.

This is a massive issue. The price jump to the next level up is significant (and a huge barrier) when you don't actually get anything else you need. It definitely feels discriminatory towards sole traders who are doing selling individual products or 1:! services (rather than bulk sales order or large projects). My business also fluctuates over the year so some months I have very few invoices and others I have more. I have no reason to buy the larger plan as it is just me as a private practice practitioner.
Please consider removing the invoicing limit (and add other features to the grow plan instead) or offering an upgrade for a lesser cost that is just an increase in invoice limit.

20 invoices and 5 bills, but guess what, where adding analytical tools to help you get a handle on theose 25 transactions! Really? who would need or want analytics and performance visualisation tools for that level of transactions?
I've had this conversation before, but to think that someone doing such a low level of transactions needs alalytical and visual features is gobsmackig - even for Xero. As a tax agent, I tell new business clients to avoid Xero and hang onto spreadsheets or try other software for as long as they can. If this product offered usable limits I'd practically beg them to all go onto it. They are so close to dominating the market, yet so far away.
The only logical reason I can see for holding out on this is there must be a lot of Grow subscribers who could drop their subscription down.

The quota of allowed bills and invoices should at the very least be combined. On Ignite the current 20 Bills and 5 Invoices assumes everyone raises 4X the invoices to Bills they receive. This is opposite for me to I feel the numbering is discriminatory. Mine is for a property entity that has one tenant, and of course many Bills. My recommendation at least is that the quota of 25 be spread over both Bills and Invoices.

Good luck… Xero seems to be intent on screwing over existing clients by making them pay for unnecessary features.

A bolt on of simply say 20 extra invoices at a nominal cost available any time that are not expunged at the month end would be my preferred addition to the current set up.

Can you increase (or better remove) your limit of 20 invoices per month on your Ignite package – or add a new package that is in between Ignite and Grow? – As a sole trader with meagre monthly turnover, and no need for items such as payroll, additional users etc – a $70 a month package is cost prohibitive. Can you offer something for us startups?
PS. A competitor of xero has a basic package for small business with UNLIMITED invoices and quotes on offer for $11.25 AUD a month ($normally $45) PLEASE don’t make me have to SWITCH!
