  1. When you create an invoice the payment terms default to what is set for each customer (ie. 45 days from end of month, 60 days etc) however if you then change the issue date of the invoice, it defaults back to 30 days for every client regardless of their terms. We are looking for it to caclulate to each clients correct terms whenever the invoice date is changed

    Hi team, with some recent changes we made to the date picker in new invoicing you should find this is now working correctly for you. When creating a new invoice the default due date is triggered by the invoice settings, or where set for an individual contact this'll be the date used, also as noted in my update here - now if you update the issue date after a due dates entered, it does not automatically update the due date when you make issue date changes.

    If you're still finding any discrepancies in what you're expecting I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support so we can get more detail and confirm the behaviour you're getting.

  2. Ability to upload invoice lines into sales invoices (like journal upload) When you have to produce large multi line sales invoices the ability to upload from an excel file would be a huge timesaver instead of having to enter each line individually.

    Hi team, as noted earlier - You can import invoices with a CSV file. If you'd like to add multiple lines for the same invoice you just need to use the same invoice number for each row of the file. See our help and tips on the formatting of the file. 😊

  3. Would be nice to add multiple permanent Custom Watermarks to your reports (i.e. one that says "For Internal Management Purposes Only" or something similar).

    Hi team, thanks for sharing with us here. Custom Watermarks are available for Practices when using Export > Styled PDF.

    You'll see a Watermark option with a few pre-selections or the ability to add a Custom watermark where you can enter the text you want including; letters, numbers, common symbols and punctuation marks.

  4. We need the ability to delete a custom report. Many times a custom report is necessary for a period of time then no longer needed. I see no way to delete it. That would be VERY helpful.

  5. Need to be able to void/delete invoices on mobile app. (Not have to do it via xero on computer)
    VERY frustrating for clients who invoice daily from their phone and need to void or delete an invoice.

  6. It would be helpful when using XeroMe if staff could advise of earned Time in Lieu to be accrued for a timesheet. Currently they can only record the hours but not whether additional hours should be paid out or accrued

    Thanks for your continued support of this idea, community. Pleased to let you know that we’ve released further updates to time tracking in Payroll for Australian users.

    You’ll now be able to add notes to each new earnings line, providing a bit of extra context for the timesheet approver.

  7. Currently if you export from a Smart List, the export includes all contact rather than the list derived from the Smart List.

    Until this feature can be added, I suggest removing the Export option from this screen as it is makes people think this sort of export is possible.

    It's possible to only export your filtered contact list, by selecting all customers (as you've done in your screenshot) and clicking the smaller export button.

    I've attached a screenshot illustrating this. Totally understand that this process could be clearer, so I'll ensure this feedback is shared with our Contact team.

    Thanks for your idea here, Rolf. Can't quite confirm the exact date this changed but you should now find the abbreviation for September in Xero Payroll has been changed to the 3 character long version 'Sep'.

    If there is a specific place you're still seeing 'Sept' referenced please do let us know here and I can follow this up with our product team.

  10. Ability to reconcile payroll with a matching transaction as currently we have to enter the weekending and what is for when the wages come up in the bank statement but for bills and invoices it automatically knows what transactions are for what

  11. Create the ability to send statements to multiple customers at the same time. Having to go to each customer to send a statement is VERY time consuming and labor intensive. Create a way to list the customers that don't have a zero balance with the ability to check the customers to send statements to. The user could edit the text of the email one time and it could be sent to all customers checked. This would help a LOT!

    You can send out statements to multiple customers by starting from the Sales Overview menu.

    To do this, select 'Sales Overview' from the Business dropdown, then click the Send Statements button. This will allow you to select multiple customer statements to send at once 😊

    It's already possible in Xero to customise the look and feel of your quotes, as well as invoices, credit notes, customer statements and purchase orders 😀

    You'll need to use an 'Advanced invoice template' for more in-depth customisation, such as including terms or a cover page.

  13. It would be great if you could download the Employee-year-to-date preview report after payroll finalisation in Australia.
    Currently, this report can only be downloaded as part of the finalisation process not after. After finalising payroll you can only download a CSV file. We missed a transaction when reconciling that was in column BY - we spent hours trying to reconcile a payroll finalisation that could have been easily checked with the Employee year-to-date preview report which is all on one page.

    You can now download the STP Year-to-Date Summary report for a specific employee after STP finalisation, Lisa. 😊

    1. From the Payroll menu select 'Single Touch Payroll'
    2. Click the 'Tax year' drop box in the top right > Select the required tax year
    3. Go into the Finalisation tab > Click 'View report'
    4. Select the required employee/s > Click the 'Export' button to download the report
  14. A detailed pay run journal report would be much more useful than the current summary version. It is especially unhelpful that selecting the entry in an expense account just takes you to the pay run - it doesn't show you what is coded to which expense account. With many employees this can take a long time to find errors or to manually journal multiple costings

    Hi Barbara, it's now possible to export your VAT return to PDF! 🎉

    You'll find this as a drop down from the Export option in the top right of the VAT return. Thanks for your input on this here 🙂

    HI everyone, thanks for your engagement and support here. I know it's been a while since we updated and I'm pleased to be able to share the improvements we've made to add Invoice Number and Invoice Reference as optional columns to the Project Details report😁

    When you next open the report, use the 'Columns' option to add each of these detail. You'll also find you can now Filter by either option too!

  17. Bank Reconciliation

    Remove the Imported Statement Balance as at best it does not work at all and at worst it imports the wrong value, which is very upsetting for clients.

    Hi everyone, sorry we've not updated you again sooner on this. With the new Bank Reconciliation Summary report you'll find there is now an option from the 'More' button at the top of the page to uncheck the 'Imported Statement balance' which will then hide this from the report. 🙂

  19. A report to show who and when the account lock dates were changed.

    If transactions are entered into lock periods this causes Xero to ot match the closed periods where accounts may have been submitted already. Currently there is no way to see who or when the dates were locked.

    Hey community, thanks for all your interest in this idea! It’s clear from the comments that identifying when changes are made, and who has made them would be really helpful.

    This morning we rolled out an update to the financial settings screen for all Xero organisations to enable History & Notes  🎉

    When you add a lock date, it will appear on the History & Notes table below and, for advisers, the History & Notes screen.

    I’ve attached a screenshot so you can see this in action and, for more information, you can check out our Xero Central article Set up your organisation's financial settings.

  20. Add the ability to Xero / Xero Me for multiple time sheet entries per day.
    For staff who work across multiple sites having the ability to add multiple time entries per day and either select a client to associate those entries against, or add a note for each time sheet entry would be fantastic.
    Ultimately you would allow up to 6 time entries per day.

    Example

    Monday
    Time Entry1= 8:00 - 11:30am (note= site 1)
    Time Entry2= 12:00 - 3:30pm (note= site 2)
    Time Entry3= 3:30pm - 5:00pm (note = site 3)

    Doing this would improve the functionality and uptake…
