  1. Daily auto inventory update. Just as Vend sends through daily sales to Xero, it should be able to do this for inventory levels.

    From your description, it sounds like Tracked Inventory in Xero would accomplish this 😊

    Tracked inventory maintains a live count of your stock on hand, allowing you to report on stock quantity and value. You can read more about it here.

  2. With Customers statements it would be amazing if it could default to todays current date as it is always retrospective and eg today it automatically defaults to 31.03.2023 it would be so much easier to adjust back than forwards all the time .

    Hi community, I’m pleased to share that Additional Notes for a contact are now live to everyone!

    As mentioned in my last response - You’ll find the feature available to use when adding or editing a Contact, at the bottom of the Contact details section.

    You can edit the contact at any time to edit or delete text that you’ve entered in this field. Once saved, you’ll see the saved text shown in the right panel of a Contacts record.

    To confirm, this does not apply to notes that are added to the History & Notes of a Contact. If you'd like the ability to edit and Delete notes we'd recommend using the additional notes option.

  4. On mobile app add option to skip an unreconciled bank transaction (eg if there is a query) so that other items can still be reconciled

    Hey Roger, just a quick update to let you know we've updated our reconciliation experience on the Xero App.

    You'll no longer be presented with one transaction at a time, and instead will have the option to skip transactions, and return to them at a later time. For a preview of this new reconciliation experience, I've uploaded a screenshot 📸


  5. Short Term Cashflow Tool Improvements:
    - Able to add recurring money in money out entries

    Hey community - the team have been working on the ability to include repeating transactions in Short-term cash flow, and I'm happy to announce that it's being released today 🎉

    Since this idea was updated to reflect the first point in the description, I'm switching it over to delivered.

    I can’t see any other ideas about the ability to review past transactions but can confirm that's not currently planned. If it’s still important to you feel free to start a new idea for it.

  7. You should be able to edit any payrun that hasn't been 'filed' regardless if it was the last one or not. I enter several unscheduled payruns and I've noticed an error in one but I can't fix it because it wasn't the last payrun posted. The "work-around" Xero recommends is to File it and then re-post a counter fix. This feels redundant and unnessary extra work. Essentially its saying I can post an inverse of the original to cancel it out which isn't a tidy way of doing work.

    Hi Jamie, just coming back across your idea here. In Xero Payroll as of right now if you've a posted pay run that you need to make adjustments to, you can revert this to draft and make the required changes.

    The only time we wouldn't recommend doing this is if the pay run's been filed with the ATO.

    Once it's been filed we'd recommend using unscheduled pay runs to make any changes. This is because reverting a filed pay run to draft will cause issues in the reporting to the ATO.

    Hey community, thanks to everyone that shared their feedback on this idea! 

    This is now live for all reports, including the Bank Reconciliation reports 🎉 

    You’ll now see a page number when exporting any report to a .pdf.Previously, it was only possible to add page number to Advisor reports. 

    I’ve attached a screenshot with an example of this in action, but for more information, check out our Export and print a report Xero Central article.

  9. HubDoc should generate multiple line items from a document to assigning to different accounts in Xero. For example - itemised invoices from a supplier could have line items that pertain to different accounts. Currently, multiple line items have to be created manually which takes a lot of time.

    I'd recommend raising a case with our team at Xero Support to dive into more of the details of documents you're having trouble publishing with multiple lines at present, Nick and Elaine. 

    Viewing Hubdoc support this is something you should be able to set up from within Hubdoc. 

  10. Currently it is not possible for a user with the Invoice Only access to view paid invoices under the contacts tab. It doesn't make a lot of sense that they can view all of the invoices however when in contacts can only view invoices that are unpaid.

    Sorry for not updating you sooner here, team.  We've just released an update for Invoice Only roles in Contacts. What you can see will now be dependent on the level of access the user has.  

    • Invoice Only Draft will no longer see the I Owe and They Owe columns, 
    • Invoice Only (Sales) will only see They Owe, and 
    • Invoice Only (Purchases) will only see You Owe. 

    This change applies to sorting on the page as well.

  11. Currently there is no option for unpaid sick leave for an employee. It is important to record unpaid leave taken accurately and also display this on the payslip.
    When adjusting the hours paid or work to ensure an employee does not go into a negative sick leave balance, it does not show as unpaid leave on the payslip or reporting.
    A negative sick leave balance should not be automatic, it should be a prompt and choice as to whether the business wants to risk paying sick leave in advance of entitlement.

  12. Currently there is no functionality in Xero to populate the invoice number in the Profit and Loss report while the reference field is filled out. Would like to have the invoice number to be shown as well for easy reference and checking.

    Hi team, as noted in my last update you can click on the figure in the Profit & Loss which drills down to the Account Transactions report. 

    You'll find that you can adjust the report settings to add 'Invoice Number' as a column so you can see both pieces of information on the report.

  13. The issue with MFA in some banks blocking yodlee's transaction feed negates the benefit of it in the first place. You want a secure way to receive the transaction data without having someone with signing privileges (a senior exec) log in each time a bookkeeper is trying to do their work. If Xero built an easy API or a other solution that we could send to our banks and put pressure on them to build into their system I'm sure you would get a ton of buy in from the accounting community.   14. Bring back Dividend Voucher creation.

    Dividend payments are almost mandatory for small business to be tax efficient and operational.
    It used to be a feature but was removed, which is a shame because now i have to manage yet another document.
    Other packages offer this basic functionality.

    Hi Calem, the Dividend Voucher report is available to users that are part of a UK based Practice and has not been removed - If you're a part of a UK Xero Practice and don't see this in the Adviser tab, perhaps a user in the practice has accidentally removed it.

    It'll be easy enough to add back though. If you have the edit report templates permission on Xero HQ, just click New Template > Copy From where the report will be available to select from the Xero Templates list 🙂

The classic invoicing had the ability to add a new item or a new account code while creating the invoice, the new invoicing doesn't have this ability so you have to go back into products/chart of account, create it then go back to the invoice - this seems like a step backwards rather than an improvement

    Hi Paul, a slightly different process to  classic invoicing, but it is possible to add an item when using new invoicing. 

    When you add a line without an item code (description based) you'll see an option from the 3 dots at the end of the line that allows you to 'Save to inventory' meaning you don't have to jump out to Products & services to add each new item - see my example below🙂

    Hi everyone, returning a few months on from our last update we're going to move this idea to ‘delivered’. The team have recently automated the generation of the employee number 🎉  Initially this is just for numeric employee numbers but they're also looking into how this can be done for non-numeric ones too.

  17. Xero aged payables- the old reports were much clearer and useful.
    We would like to be able to set the report so we can have the dates along the top and invoice date rather than having to go in every time and have to manually change it. It has become quite laborious.

  18. When booking more than one days holiday Xero does not allow you to edit the hours taken. Xero assumes everyone works a 5 day week. So if a part time employee who works 5 hours a day 3 days a week totalling 15 hours books two days holiday Xero assumes they will be taking just 6 hours when it should be 10. There is not an option to amend the hours taken like there is if you just book 1 day.

    Hi community, with the recent change in UK Payroll to introduce working pattern templates so now you can now create default work schedules for employees, ensuring their pay and leave are calculated correctly. You can have up to 100 templates with up to 13 weeks of entries. 

    Working patterns provide visibility around earnings rate calculations and will eliminate the need to amend miscalculations manually.

  19. I've noticed the Payment Summary Details Report no longer captures all the data ie RFBA that is input during the STP finalisation process. Would be great if we could have a tidier and shorter one (selecting what you want) rather then the CSV file.

    This morning we enabled PDF exports for the STP finalisation screen, and these exports will include all fields, including RFBA.

    There was also some requests for the ability to edit what's included in this pdf export. Conscious that this update doesn't quite deliver that, so I've spun that off in to a seperate idea 👉 'AU Payroll - Edit PDF export of STP Finalisation'

    Appreciate the support here, and thanks for your feedback on being able to view a report that shows prepayments that you've recorded for contacts in Xero. 


    Our reporting teams have been making many developments to enhance Xero's newer style reports, and added Prepayments to both the Payable and Receivable Invoice Summary and Details reports

    • For unallocated prepayments amounts only, add a 'Source' filter for Prepayments, and a Status filter of 'Approved' (when all credit of a Prepayment's been allocated it will show a status of 'Paid')


    If you'd like to have your formatted report on hand any time, save it as custom - You could even go as far as making this the default. 🙂
