History & notes - chart of accountsIt would be great (if not already available - I can't find it) to get an audit report whereby we can see changes made to a set of accounts after they have been submitted. 4 votesHi community, we have now released a change to the History & notes report so you can view changes to the Name or Type of an Account on screen, without having to click into the line of the report. This includes where you have updated chart of accounts via an import. Thanks for sharing and feeding back what would help you working with Xero, here.

FX rates used on Balance Sheet reportThe 'old' balance sheet showed the fx rates as a note at the bottom - can we have the option to add this to the new balance sheet layout. 99 votesHi everyone, we've just released disclosures for foreign currency in Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Trial balance, Movements in equity, Budget Variance and the Blank reports.🙂
When you run one of these reports in base currency you'll see indicators next to amounts that have been translated that show the exchange rate that was used.
Where applicable and you run one of these reports in a foreign currency there will be an indicator next to the currency sub heading that links to a note which display the exchange rates at which the base currency has been translated to foreign currency as at the report date, and any comparative dates.
We'll be extending this feature across more reports and I'll return to share as these come available. Thanks!

New invoicing - Send invoice via sms from laptopI like to be able to send an invoice to both email and SMS at the same time from both laptop and phone 2 votesHi Chris, I see you're based in AU and we're pleased to share that we have now added the capability of being able to send via SMS along side email from your laptop in AU. You can now select the three dots in the top right of an 'Awaiting Payment' invoice, then choose "Send SMS" from the menu. While we will look to expand this to other regions in time, we don't have a set date for this yet. We'll be sure to come back here and share further updates when this happens. 😊

Activity Statement - Ability to dismiss ATO outage notificationI appreciate getting a notification of a future ATO outage but I'd like the ability to dismiss it; I've already checked the dates and confirmed it won't affect me, but it stays on the page while completing the BAS. 1 voteThanks for your feedback on this notification banner, Shannon. After a quick check in with our team on this, I'm pleased to share they've made a small change so you'll now find it's able to be dismissed!

UK Payroll - Birthday Notifications for employeesNotifications on xero to alert you that an employees age has increased due to a birthday, as they may have hit a new age bracket in the wage rates and they could be getting underpaid if not noticed. Example - employee goes from age 20 to 21 this would mean that if they are on the 18-20 year old wage rate and they are on the £7.49 once they turned 21 they should then be on £10.18. so notification of birthdays would help keep you aware of age changes. 124 votesHi team, this is now released!🎉 We've recently updated Xero Payroll(UK) and now a new NI category will automatically be applied to a pay run based on an employees birthdate, and if they are entering into a new NI category. Helping to save you time from manually tracking and updating yourself. 😊 Thanks for all your support and input via the idea here.

New Repeating Invoice - Include option for "Fortnightly" TransactionsIn the "New Repeating Invoice" section, Sub section "Repeat This Transaction Every" only has weekly or Monthly. A lot of employees get paid Fortnightly (Two weeks) and would be a great addition to add the "Fortnightly" option. Also adding the "Fortnightly" option in the Reference, Place Holder area. Please see the attached image as these area are highlighted. 5 votesHi team, this is already possible with the options in the repeat template. You'll want to enter the number '2' and select 'week(s)'. 🙂

New invoicing - Show invoices with "includes Adjustments to Tax"In Classic views if there was an Adjustment to Tax it was quite obvious when the Invoice (or Bill) had an adjustment to tax. Compare that to the new Invoice screen where there is nothing showing that this adjustment exists.
It must be sitting in the database somewhere as its shows in classic invoicing.Could this be added back into new invoicing plus could there be a report or filter that could show invoices or bills that have an adjustment to tax? 11 votesHi everyone, apologies we've not updated you on this idea sooner. Where you're using the UK or Global editions of Xero it is possible to manually adjust the tax amount of individual lines of your invoice with new invoicing. This is slightly different to classic where you would adjust the overall tax amount of the invoice. If the Tax Amount column isn't shown already, click the show/hide fields button where you'll have the option to check this - While this column is possible to view for all orgs, as with classic invoicing only UK and Global editions will find the option to edit the Tax amount of your invoice lines.

New Invoicing - Use item sales price when copying from Purchase orderNew Invoicing problem - we are copying new invoices from the existing purchase orders and prices on the new invoices are showing as a cost price instead of the sales prices! :(((. A massive issue! Also, the new invoicing look is not user friendly with a lot of space on the screen. We were very happy with the current invoicing when everything was working perfectly, and the new invoicing does not work for us at all. Dear Xero developers, please do not fix what is not broken and leave the current invoicing as it is. 13 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your feedback on this and I'd like to confirm that our team have implemented a change. Now, when you copy a purchase order to a draft invoice, where it includes items from your Products and services Xero will use the Sale price and account saved for that item when creating the invoice. Thank you for sharing with us on this and staying updated though product ideas, here.

Bills - Changing VAT code on paid supplier invoicesIt would save a lot of time if it would be possible to edit the VAT code on paid and reconcilled invoices, just like you can change the nominal code. The VAT return is done at the end of each quarter, which means that the majority of invoices and expenses have been paid, by the time you are running your VAT return and double checking that all invoices and expenses have been correctly coded for VAT. At the moment, if an item is miscoded I need to go to that item, unreconcile the paymemt, go back to the item and… 2 votesHi community, we have a help article surrounding this topic as there are a few different options available. If you're an adviser you could consider Find & recode as an option but would highly recommend testing this out in the demo company to get an idea of how this works if it's your first time.

New invoicing - Calendar to remain stagnant when moving through monthsWhen you open the calendar to input a date (e.g., expense claims), the calendar box changes shape/moves around when you click the arrow to go back over previous months because the number of days in each month varies. The calendar shouldn't move around because you must keep repositioning the cursor to find the arrow again. As someone mentioned in another comment, allow the ability to use the mouse scroll to go back and forth. 4 votesHi Kelly, if you're still experiencing issues with this I would recommend connecting with our specialists at Xero Support via Xero Central to take a closer look and confirm if working as designed. We made a few changes to the calendar a few month back that I believe will have resolved any issues you were having with the calendar moving around like you've described here. Thanks

It would be good if you could you could add a batch of invoices from the same supplierIt would be good if you could you could add an option where you can enter a batch of invoices from the same supplier without having to add each one separately and approving them, and then have to enter the supplier name each time. 1 voteHi Jayne, there are a few different features you could use to help with your bills entry. If you have a copy of your supplier invoices you could upload them, alternatively you could use email to bills, Hubdoc or manually import via a CSV file. Aside from the manual import many of these options will extract data from your bill to create a draft bill for you.

new invoicingNew invoicing - Not user friendly I am sure that there are some great features with the new invoicing but I cannot see them!! On the new invoicing screen, where do you see the exchange rate and the payment status of an invoice or if a credit note was applied to an invoice. The Classic invoicing working well and if it isn't broken then don't fix it! 1 voteHi Celeste, appreciate your feedback here. Each of the points you've shared should be visible within new invoicing. If you're entering a multi-currency invoice the exchange rate is shown at the top right of the invoice, and you should see the status of the invoice i the top left beneath the blue banner e.g Awaiting Payment, Paid etc. I've attached an image of this for your reference.

Xero Support - Provide phone supportPlease offer phone support. You still continue to have many people being frustrated at the lack of phone support you provide. As paying customers and given the substantial fees you charge customers should be able to ring you when they need to. Often the online responses we get from your customer services people are too complex for them or their English is not good enough to be able to understand the issues. 30 votesHi everyone, while we don't have an inbound number you can call, we do call when it helps. Invoicing - Stop capitalizing the address line for CityOn the PDF invoices, Xero automatically CAPITALIZES the entire town/city name, even in my custom invoicing template. It looks unprofessional and I want it to go away. I've avoided this by typing all new addresses on the first line, but I have imported hundreds of contacts into Xero and I don't want to go in and change every single one of them. 5 votesHi all, in Xero City, State and Country fields appear in capital letters when using a standard invoice template. This is because the US Postal Service (USPS) recommends these fields are in all caps. Currently you could use an advanced invoice template and replace the merge field <<ContactPostalAddress>> with some or all of the following merge fields to change the way this appears: - ContactPostalAddressLines
- ContactPostalRegion
- ContactPostalCity
- ContactPostalCountry
- ContactPostalPostCode
- ContactPostalAttentionTo

preview invoiceIn the old invoicing you can preview the invoice without downloading a PDF. I would like to view them again in the new invoicing without having to download a PDF. 1 voteThis is already possible, and you're even able to preview an invoice without using your mouse now with keyboard shortcuts! If you type Alt-Shift-V(Opt-Sift-V on a Mac) Otherwise, you'll see this option next to Save within new invoicing view.

Sales invoicing - amend VATCan you make the VAT amendable on the new invoicing system. We link with the Clover till system and the vat is always a few pence out, but the new invoicing doesn't allow us to change the vat amount. 1 voteHi Lindsey, you should find that you can add a Tax Amount column within new invoicing which will allow you to change the tax amount of the individual lines so you can correct the cents between your other system and Xero.

New invoicing - Show full Tracking categoryDespite some condensing of information and improvements to the appearance of new invoicing, it continues to display information with less clarity and efficiency than before. This is only one example but on classic invoicing, entering a tracking category that was too large for the field would cause the vertical height of that row to increase. Now new invoicing simply cuts off the field after a certain character limit. This system is not ready for default deployment and you have no idea how bad the support storm is going to be on the 2nd of September. Please push back the default… 5 votesHi everyone, our new line item grid has been released, and you'll find with this update along with other changes, that all fields now wrap. So if you have an account, tax rate or code that is a little longer you'll be able to see the full name of this when invoicing. We appreciate all your feedback on improving new invoicing to suit your needs here. Thanks

Increased Early Plan pricingI am a refuge from QuickBooks (after decades of use). I switched to Xero because of the ever-increasing costs of QuickBooks since they switched to a subscription model. I have to have two Xero subscriptions -- one for my (very) small business and one for my home bookkeeping. (With QuickBooks, I could manage both with a single account.) At the Early level, that's $15 per month apiece, $30 a month for both, or $360 a year in all. That's less than QuickBooks, but it's a lot for my modest needs. Now with the added "cash coding" feature -- which I… 2 votesAppreciate you sharing your feedback on this and thoughts int he community here. Currently, Xero offers a discount when you subscribe to more than one small business pricing plan. The one thing you'll need to ensure is that each organisation is subscribed to the same email address - We have more information on Xero Central, and you can connect with our specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of the page if you'd like to discuss your subscriptions further.

Reporting - Monthly comparatives to run for the full monthWould it be possible to amend Xero settings, so that if you run a balance sheet to the end of February, the comparatives are also run to the end of previous month? In February, my current month balance sheet is run to 28 February (Xero's choice) and Xero decides that means I also want to see the comparatives run to 28 January as a default setting. As many month-end journals are posted to, say, 31 January, the balance doesn't include them. This is very misleading: in any other month, the comparatives are run to the end of the month. It's… 1 voteSorry Karen, not quite sure what's going on with your report there but I'd recommend coming into our specialists at Xero Support to have a closer look at your report settings. Running for the full period of the month is the default so it should pick up all days for the month comparatives you're running the report for. I've attached a test from the demo org - Setting the Date to 28 Feb, with compare for 2 months the report shows me the full months with columns for 31 Jan and 31 Dec.

Upload files to a chart of account codeUpload files to an account code in the chart of accounts, rather than to a transaction or a contact. Thinking in particular for lease and loan schedules and calculations, breakdown of accruals / prepayments, pdf bank statements to bank accounts. 1 voteHey community, 👋 thanks for your support on this idea, I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered! Simply click on the figure in the YTD column on the chart of accounts screen and it opens a detail page with the file upload button on it. Thanks again for your feedback. It helps us to continue shaping the future of reports here at Xero.
