Fixed Asset - Partial disposal of an asset

Would be good to have a function within fixed asset register that allows to part dispose of an asset and to revalue.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your support for part disposal of Fixed Assets in Xero.  Being transparent - current work for the team requires focus on upgrades to Fixed Asset technology.

    Hi Xero, is there any update on this? The last update was 18 months ago. Nearly 200 people have gone out of their way to vote for this and comment.

    Another request for a partial disposal of assets feature to be added. This seems to be a huge demand, and is available in other systems, so we know the capability exists. Any upcoming changes or upgrades to the Fixed Asset Register in Xero should definitely include this.

    This really needs to be addressed. I have stopped using the FAR in Xero because of this issue. We have a lot of b/f main pool balances where we don't have the full asset breakdown, particularly for farm accounts. If an asset is sold and it is part of the b/f pool we cant do this in Xero without a lot of fiddling and journals, which clearly takes too long for little benefit

    Xero response was over a year ago. Please can you provide an update. This is basic functionality that needs to be implemented.

    Hope this feature will be up soon! this request has been flagged up for years. it's really troublesome when there are partial disposal transactions occurred.

    This would save a lot of time. Often I have to dispose of the whole asset and create a new one of the partial amount and journal depreciation. Big run around that could be a quick solution.

    I consider that the ability to sell part of an asset should be a standard feature of Xero Fixed Assets - we have been asking for this feature for many years - with no upgrade so far .

    Partial disposal of assets, please!
    This is reasonably common and needed by accountants if you want practices to use your software too

    I vote for this one. Deleting and adding an asset that has been purchased in previous financial years, is a very long fix, and will alter data

    Agree that this needs to be added as a feature
    Our client has an asset for 2 phones added in 2020 - now 1 has been disposed.
    Xero advise to edit a locked period which is time consuming and not ideal!!!

    I vote for this one too.
    We have inherited another accountants fixed asset register and have put 2 assets together - but they had the depreciation rate incorrect so it has been changed to the correct one when it was detected - this is even more detailed.
    Thinking split lines to the year it was the old one, lock period and then change rate to correct one??

    Another vote for this feature please - I have issue at the moment where I need to partially dispose of fixed assets. Seems a long fix at the moment, to add/edit new assets.

    I highly recommend Xero to create the partial disposal function under the Fixed Assets, this will certainly streamlining the maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register.

    An asset list was entered to Xero when we took over the company which included 2 x items as one entry. This feature would have been good as some assets were disposed of immediately after we took over.
