    Our product team are undergoing a big piece of work to create a single client record which sounds like it solves your ask here. It's is a single database that exists behind your practice tools and houses your client data across Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Tax and Xero HQ. You can use XPM to maintain your client information, while unlocking the value of Xero HQ when managing client organisations and staff access. This article has more information about it.

  2. When you import a personalised chart of accounts you get stuck with the default numbers for the system accounts as it does not allow them to be included in the template. The result being the system accounts are dramatically out of order compared to our desired place for them in our personalised chart.

  3. Automate Bill Entry
    When emailing bills to Xero could we have every line imported instead of just one lump sum? I use different accounts for different billed items. Having this feature would save me a lot of time typing!

  4. Customer Invoice Report is being retired but there is no equivalent new Report to provide a list of Invoices issued. This report is essential for monitoring invoices issued and payments received where the Xero subscription is for a non GST cash book.

    Hey Jill, the Receivable Invoice Detail and Summary reports have been set up with new common formats and filters that should replicate most of the functionality in the old reports.

    For example, to view all your paid Invoices within a specific date range, you can run the Receivable Invoice Detail report with a filter for "Last payment date".

    This is actually already possible in our Australian payroll product.


    You can find a history of changes to the employee's leave tab, including updates to their opening balances in the 'Payroll History' section at the bottom of the page.


    Our Xero Central article has more information on that, and the other fields tracked by Payroll History. 


  6. It would be very nice to be able to import our bank statements from US Bank. Also, I would like to be able to manually do our bank reconciliations and just upload the PDF statement so I would be able to view the actual statement

  7. I look after several cafes who have repeat food/beverages invoices emailed to Xero (by owner who approves them). Can you set up Draft Invoice Bank rules. For Example MILK SUPPLIER AAA = COS Beverages GST Free BREAD BAKERY AAA = COS FOOD GST Free

    Untracked inventory could be used for this purpose, Xanthe - You'll be able to save description, price, account and tax rate for each item. 

    So for example you could set up an item for MILK SUPPLIER AAA with a preferred sales account and selecting the GST rate. 

    When this item is selected in an invoice these fields would be prefilled and your employee would just nee to adjust for Qty and any other detail as required. 

  8. Tax Return Report - Professional Services Firms List

    Can you to generate a report for trusts and partnerships to show me the Main business activity industry code and description. You only have the option to do it for indivduals and companies.

  9. We would like to be able to cap leave or the hours that leave will accrue on. IE Xero would stop accruing when annual leave accrual hours reach 152 hours for the year and 76 hours for personal leave.

    Thanks for suggesting this idea 😊


    As you've found, if an employee's leave accrual type is set to 'based on ordinary earnings', then Xero will not prevent employees that work additional hours from accruing additional leave. 


    Instead, if you need to cap an employee's leave accruals, you can set the accrual type to 'Fixed amount each period'. 


    This accrual type will evenly split the employee's yearly leave entitlement  across each pay run, and will not accrue more than the figure entered in as 'Hours of leave accrued annually.

  10. Currently the 'Reason for reducing payments on account' on the 'Payments on Account Screen' of personal tax is limted to 100 characters. It's not enough!

    I’ve reached out to our education team to share your feedback and resource, and get a better understanding of how we choose the language in our quarterly product updates.

    To provide context - we’ve used the term ‘Hispanic’ here as that’s the term used by our Los Xeros group, which is made up of Hispanic and Latinx employees and Xero ambassadors. Based on this we'll continue to use the phrase Hispanic in addition to Latinx, where appropriate.

  12. It would be helpful to have a Director ID field for contacts within an entity in XPM. There are instances where we act for the entity and not the individual Director. We are therefore not able to store the Director ID in the same way for an individual client.

  13. It's not currently possible to tick box 53 of the UK ITR CGT pages to state that the return contains a valuation - can this be added. Otherwise the software is not useable when you have a CGT disposal with a valuation or estimate

  15. Hubdoc doesn't recognise duplicate document uploads, this is an important feature that is common in all other document handling software I have used in the past. Please add this feature to enable us to utilise the auto publish feature with peace of mind that we won't end up with many duplicate supplier invoices in our accounts.

    We can now happily say this has since been released and you can start enjoying the benefits.

    You’ll notice that duplicate detection picks up on any documents that have been uploaded more than once. If a document has the same supplier, date and amount as a document already uploaded, Hubdoc will automatically highlight the duplicate and let you know that a dupe has been detected. You can then either move the dupe to the trash, or mark it as not a duplicate if it’s been uploaded again for good reason.

    We recently released the ability to create packing slips when printing with new invoicing. Check out our support article for more info!.

    Though this might not meet the exact criteria of every business, but it meets the core needs of customers that need a simple solution. If you're finding this doesn't work for you, check out our app store to see if there's any third parties that could help you out instead.

    As this feature already exists, I'll go ahead and mark this as delivered.

  18. The Document Packs needs a delete and resend function.

    The delete function is necessary when client cannot open a document sitting in their Xero portal. The client can't delete it. We can't delete it. If we could jump into Document Packs and delete and/or resend, just like we do in Xero Tax, it would save a lot of time and frustration for both accountant and client.

    The resend function is also necessary when a client doesn't receive the email asking them to sign a document. The work around whereby we have to phone the client and walk them through logging…
