Hubdoc - Make Hubdoc run normally when having more than 1,000 contacts
Ability to make Hubdoc can run normally when there are more than 1,000 contacts in Xero.
Purpose: It will improve the workflow of the user when they’re using Hubdoc, and they don’t have to merge/delete the contact in Xero.
Hello community, we're pleased to let you know that our Hubdoc team has implement a fix that was causing slowness for those users with large Xero Contact lists, especially for those of you who have more than 1,000 contacts. So you'll notice a big improvement in Hubdoc speed now.
Thank you for your input here everyone! I'll move the status of this idea to 'delivered' so the votes can be returned to you all 🙂.

This is ridiculous. I'm not sure why people have fallen for the line that it's only whent here are more than 1000 contacts either - it's all the time. The contact system in Xero makes no sense, adding hundreds of bank statement references, but even so the lookup system in Hubdoc is such a waste of time that it would even be better if they completely removed the contact link. How this has not been fixed as a number one priority is beyond me. I look forward to another flawless demonstration at XeroCON

this is a temp fix. Since doing this the search has improved in a big way.
Frustrating to keep doing this, but worth it if you have a lot of processing required.
We'd like to see if resetting the Hubdoc connection to your Xero organisation resolves the problem.
To do this you'll need to first disconnect Xero from Hubdoc:
On the Hubdoc dashboard, click the settings icon, then select the Integrations tab.
Next to Xero, click Disconnect.Once you’ve disconnected the organisations, you’ll need to reconnect them.
If you use 'Sign in with Xero option' to login to Hubdoc. Could you please reset this too, To do this:
To do this, please:
Log in to Xero.
Click the organisation name, then select Hubdoc.
From your Hubdoc organisation dashboard, click the profile icon in the top right-hand corner, then select Profile.
In the Profile & Security tab, click Disconnect from Xero.
Click Reset Password to confirm.
This will disconnect the Xero SSO connection set up for your Hubdoc account. To set up SSO again, first log out of all Hubdoc and Xero applications you have open on your device. Then:
Go to the Hubdoc login page, enter your Hubdoc email address and password, then click Sign In Securely. Do not click Sign In With Xero – this won't resolve the issue.
From your Hubdoc organisation dashboard, click the profile icon in the top right-hand corner, then select Profile.
In the Profile & Security tab, click Sign In With Xero.
Enter your Xero credentials and MFA details when prompted to complete the connection. Please let us know if resetting the connection doesn’t resolve the issue.
I’ve included a link to a support article for more information.

Extremely slow even with less than 1,000 contacts.

I have 800 contacts in Xero and Hubdoc freezes constantly when trying to look up a contact. I often can't exit or need to restart, this is a massive time waster

This a huge issue and massive time waster but.... I have a tip for this:
Copy the contact (or part of the contact name) from the top half (Transaction Details) and paste into the bottom half (Destinations). This allows Xero to match the contact name quickly instead of typing one letter and Hubdoc hanging while it looks up all the contacts with that letter in it -

Why do I even need the 'contact' field when it is the same as the supplier? This lookup is so slow, I have wasted days catching up on reconciliations when staff have been away and used multiple new suppliers when in a new city!

Hubdoc runs extremely slow when trying to find customer / vendor names, even with less than 1,000 contacts.

Ability to only sync selected contacts from Xero to Hubdoc.
Purpose: To make Hubdoc run smoothly. Especially if users’ have more than 1,000 contacts in Xero, which makes Hubdoc run slow.
