Reporting - Option to include zero-balance accounts in the Trial Balance
The TB in Xero does not show lines that have a nil balance, however, you may need to drill down on a line that has a nil balance but may have have transactions (such as a control account). Could an option be added to the trial balance that would allow it to be displayed either with or without the nil balances?

Kelly, it is such a basic feature! We must have Balance Sheet, Trial Balance and P&L with zero balance account shown. So, we can do mapping in Excel and many other reporting functions.
Also, could you please tell me why the budget report (it seems the only report that shows zero balance ledger accounts) has a different format for the ledger account name and number? Why is the account number located after the account name and in brackets??? It makes more harder for us to do mapping between the budget and P&L.

This would be really helpful to have all account codes on there. Also on the P&L it would be great to have a choice as to whether accounts with no balance on are included or not.

This is SO BASIC it is infuriating that it is not there.
It is INTERESTING to note that there is a Report that is meant to show this; however, it is not. I have raised a case with XERO; however, true to form, they can only double-talk me. The case is CX0015946553 and the report is "Trail Balance - all accounts incl NIL transactions" is not showing the Nil Transactions
XERO just seem to treat users with content - even when a report they have created is not working.
Come on, XERO, at least fix the reports that are there that are not working!

In the process of moving from Sage to Xero and am "surprised" that Xero doesn't do reports including nil balances. When I say surprised, actually gobsmacked. Its a pretty fundamental function

Xero has some horrible methods, descriptions or absent standard accounting requirements.
Here, a TB with zero value lines so I can get the code list as a reference document to pick from. Practical. But not in Xero of course.Conversely, Chart of Accounts. You can see the balance but try and print the ******* thing. (thats blessed). It misses the totals that you can see on the screen. What the merry wonder is that for?
Xero seems to purposely miss the point , not forget them, actively avoid reaching the obvious. But you can get an "add on" at extra cost to do that, one day may be.....

Such a basic feature across accounting systems. In TB but also balance sheet and P&L.
Needs to be added. -

This is such a basic feature XERO and it would make things a lot simpler for all the users.
PLEASE make it happen - it can not be that complicated!

This in a must have ! Please add an option for "Include accounts with zero balances" in the Trial Balance, P&L and Balance sheet

This is so basic and would enhance the functionality of Xero. Currently the export format is inconsistent as accounts have/have-not got data.
Please make this apparently simple enhancement available ASAP.
SUGGESTION = under "MORE" in the T/Balance screen include a new field - "Include accounts with zero balances".

Fully agree - this is a very basic feature that is essential for system mapping. Has anyone come up with a workaround solution? I have been trying without success.

Agree, this would be very useful

You should be able to download into excel a full trial balance list of accounts plus balance at chosen date - even if NIL.
This is a basic requirement to automate any download mapping, even Sage provides this basic requirement. Please amend to allow this asap. It would save me two to three hours a month. -

When working with excel, it is easier to work with a known set of accounts that having the order change each time.
