  1. Automate Bill Entry
    When emailing bills to Xero could we have every line imported instead of just one lump sum? I use different accounts for different billed items. Having this feature would save me a lot of time typing!

  2. Customer Invoice Report is being retired but there is no equivalent new Report to provide a list of Invoices issued. This report is essential for monitoring invoices issued and payments received where the Xero subscription is for a non GST cash book.

    Hey Jill, the Receivable Invoice Detail and Summary reports have been set up with new common formats and filters that should replicate most of the functionality in the old reports.

    For example, to view all your paid Invoices within a specific date range, you can run the Receivable Invoice Detail report with a filter for "Last payment date".

  3. This is NOT an idea, more an omission from the product.
    FOREIGN Capital Gains (foreign CGT ON STOCKS AND SHARES) Is not available in XERO TAX.

    Case Ref CX0013265560
    "I am trying to report FOREIGN Capital Gains (foreign CGT ON STOCKS AND SHARES) in an individuals personal tax return. However am unable to find a schedule in XERO TAX that covers this. Please can you assist"

    Hi Jag thanks for raising this with us - this was always on our roadmap to support, and I'm pleased to say that last week we released the ability to support foreign tax credit relief on capital gains.

    To report a foreign gain/loss you just need to add it into the relevant type (we don't break the disposals down by whether they are foreign or not. Then, if you need to report foreign tax or SWT on this disposal, go to the "Foreign tax credit and SWT" section in the capital gains schedule to report this.

    Hi Caitlin, its possible to view ideas you've supported or contributed to by clicking on your initial avatar in the top right of the page and going to Settings & Activity. 

    To analyse this in more detail you can 'Export my data' where you'll receive an  email of CSV's including one for 'Ideas for your [user name]' 🙂

    This is actually already possible in our Australian payroll product.


    You can find a history of changes to the employee's leave tab, including updates to their opening balances in the 'Payroll History' section at the bottom of the page.


    Our Xero Central article has more information on that, and the other fields tracked by Payroll History. 


  6. We would like to be able to cap leave or the hours that leave will accrue on. IE Xero would stop accruing when annual leave accrual hours reach 152 hours for the year and 76 hours for personal leave.

    Thanks for suggesting this idea 😊


    As you've found, if an employee's leave accrual type is set to 'based on ordinary earnings', then Xero will not prevent employees that work additional hours from accruing additional leave. 


    Instead, if you need to cap an employee's leave accruals, you can set the accrual type to 'Fixed amount each period'. 


    This accrual type will evenly split the employee's yearly leave entitlement  across each pay run, and will not accrue more than the figure entered in as 'Hours of leave accrued annually.

  7. When entering the average number of employees in the notes, it would be great if Xero could bring forward the amount entered in the previous year to save time checking what it was!

    Hi everyone, thanks for voting on the idea here. We've made an update in Xero Tax in the UK that now accommodates your needs here. Employee amounts will now roll forward when you add the average number of employees to the notes.

  8. In the tax return tab we have the ability to have HOLD as a state/status so that they don't sit in complete or file.

    Hey community, just a quick update to close out this idea 🎉

    Towards the end of last year, we rolled out some improvements to the desktop timesheets experience. Now, if an employee submits a timesheet with start and end times, those times will be visible the Payroll Admin or Timesheet approver.

    I've included a screenshot as an example, thanks to everyone that added their vote to this idea 🙏🏻

  10. Account Receivables Statement of Accounts Balance Column

    I urge Xero to consider to amend the Balance Column in the account receivable statement of accounts, Balance should show the accumulation figure or total figure and not repeating the invoice figure again.
    I am referring to the SOA under the option of Outstanding. Please share your view. Thanks.

    Hi community, returning to the idea as noted in my last response you can use the Customer Outstanding Statement 

    To explain the Balance shown will depend on the date which the statement's being run relative to the date of the payment applied to your invoices - If the payment dates are for future dates of what the statements being run the balance reflected will be the balance of the invoice as at the statement date.

  11. It would be very nice to be able to import our bank statements from US Bank. Also, I would like to be able to manually do our bank reconciliations and just upload the PDF statement so I would be able to view the actual statement

  12. I look after several cafes who have repeat food/beverages invoices emailed to Xero (by owner who approves them). Can you set up Draft Invoice Bank rules. For Example MILK SUPPLIER AAA = COS Beverages GST Free BREAD BAKERY AAA = COS FOOD GST Free

    Untracked inventory could be used for this purpose, Xanthe - You'll be able to save description, price, account and tax rate for each item. 

    So for example you could set up an item for MILK SUPPLIER AAA with a preferred sales account and selecting the GST rate. 

    When this item is selected in an invoice these fields would be prefilled and your employee would just nee to adjust for Qty and any other detail as required.

    Hey all, thanks for all your support on this idea. This is possible when finalising STP in Xero. 

    With the STP2 release, when you finalise STP, if you want to download your employee’s details you can generate an Employee year-to-date report, which you can export this report in PDF or CSV. 🙂

    Can you to generate a report for trusts and partnerships to show me the Main business activity industry code and description. You only have the option to do it for indivduals and companies.

    Hi Simon, Amanda, and Craig! Thanks for your input here. You can change the order of the Profit and Loss report order by clicking “More”, then tick the Account Codes checkbox. From there, you’ll see the order of the report will be based on the account code number.

    I’ve also attached a screenshot here, for your reference too :)

  16. On the Xero HQ list, only certain columns have a Sort facility, it would help if
    - Sort by Trading Name
    - Sort by Unreconciled Transactions

    Hi there, our product team recently released some improvements to the client list! You can now sort the client list using all the columns - including Trading/Legal name 🙌

    You can merge or add clients to groups from the list page, and choose how many clients you would like to view per page. 

    There's a separate idea for the Ability to sort clients by "Unreconciled Items" which you can add your vote to if that's still something you'd like to see.

  17. Currently the 'Reason for reducing payments on account' on the 'Payments on Account Screen' of personal tax is limted to 100 characters. It's not enough!

  18. When an email is sent to Hubdoc with attachments, have email and pdf/csv document(s) together as one item, instead of the email going into Failed and the document going into processing. Often the email has information that is not included in the emailed attached document (pdf/csv/etc). The email goes to one tab, the document(s) go to another tab. It's almost impossible to match them back up without going back to the original email to figure out what goes where.

    Purpose: To consolidate emails with invoices/bills/etc which often have extra information that is needed to pay the bill.

  19. Currently when you export your Xero HQ client list it is limited to 1,000 rows. This makes the feature redundant for larger practices that have more than 1,000 clients. Please can this restriction be removed?

  20. It's not currently possible to tick box 53 of the UK ITR CGT pages to state that the return contains a valuation - can this be added. Otherwise the software is not useable when you have a CGT disposal with a valuation or estimate
