  1. I would like to know how to turn off JAX prompts and remove the icon from the middle of my screen when I am trying to send an email to a client. The comments are closed on the other post regarding this, however the question has not been answered. Please directly address how to remove this now that it no longer in beta.

Thanks for reaching out about this. While your post sits in the Feedback category for the ideas forum, I can definitely help clarify how JAX can be disabled based on what’s currently available:

    Opting out of JAX

If you’re the Xero subscriber for the organisation, you can usually opt out of JAX at any time:

    1. Click the JAX icon (often shown as a chat or AI symbol).
    2. Select Settings or More features.
    3. Choose the Opt out option.

    About the JAX icon

Even after opting out, the icon may still appear in some areas—such as the email compose window. Xero has indicated that while the functionality can be disabled, the icon itself may still remain as part of the product interface.

Your post is treated as Feedback because it’s about adjusting an existing feature rather than requesting something new. This helps ensure the Product team understands your experience—especially that the…

  2. An AI assistant to help use Xero within the app - inevitably manage all the book-keeping. If I’m required to do anything out the ordinary like the occasional credit note or refund when bookkeeping I often need ChatGPT or previously I’d ask an accountant. This functionality could improve over time and be connected to a mailbox to start automating all book keeping. For example, I could send XeroMailbox a client contract and AI would read it and create a project and draft invoices -or I could forward an email of a purchase order. AI would read it and ask to…

    Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your idea with us.

Because you’ve touched on two different types of AI here, I’m going to provide a bit of a "two-part" update:

    1. The AI Assistant (Existing Functionality) Good news! We actually have an AI assistant called JAX (Just Ask Xero) that does exactly what you’ve described in the first half of your post.

You can ask JAX to help you create invoices, find specific data, or guide you through a credit note. If you don't see the JAX icon in your dashboard yet, keep an eye out as it's rolling out to all users throughout 2025 and 2026.

    2. The AI Mailbox & Contract Reading (New Idea) The second part of your idea—having an AI monitor a mailbox to interpret contracts and build out entire projects—is a brilliant next step. Since this is a distinct new feature,I would suggest raising a new…

  3. Tonight I signed into Xero - the new look. There was no drop box of accounts I manage using Xero. All my subscriptions are valid just not accessible meaning not working.

It was working perfectly well previously. When you "disturb a perfectly functioning system there is a high probablility that you will introduce bugs aka defects.

Appreciate your feedback, Chris. When you mention no drop box of accounts you manage - Is it possible you're referring to the recent organisations that's available from the organisation name menu within the navigation.

The team did make a recent change that actually stemmed from community feedback on being able to hide the list of recent organisations.

If you have access to 5 or more organisations you should see a drop down next to 'Recent organisations' to expand the list and jump into a recent org.

If this is not the change you're referring to I'd recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team so we can get a few more details to look into this for you.

  4. Just Ask Xero (JAX) - Add Department, Reference and Branding Theme to invoice prompt

When sending through an invoice prompt, it leaves the department, reference and branding theme empty. Is this something I'm doing incorrectly or is this feature not yet available?

Having these features available would certainly assist.

    Thanks

Sorry to hear JAX is not performing as expected, Iwan. I can see you have raised a case with our Xero Support regarding the reference, but if you can go back and let them know that the tracking Category option is not working (and this is available in JAX) they can raise this with the Product team. I have tested this and its not working in our testing system either so please do raise this with Xero Support.

    Pricing plan related

We appreciate your feedback, this will be shared with our teams. We do not accept ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures and cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.
