Smart Document Capture - Add a Search Function to Xero Files
It can be difficult to find a specific file when there are hundreds of documents stored in Xero Files.
Add a search bar that lets users quickly search for files by:
File name
Supplier or customer name
Invoice number
Keyword
Date
AmountThis would save time, improve efficiency, and make it much easier to find supporting documents during day-to-day bookkeeping and audits.

We are continually enhancing Xero and specifically the new Smart Doc Capture feature, so its great to hear what our customers want to see. The option for a search function in Files is something that our Product team is currently developing and we will round back to this idea and update you when this is is released.

Smart document data capture - multiple pages
please can you tell me when we might be able to capture a multi page invoice as one pdf in Smart Invoice Capture - ie 2 pictures to one PDF as can be done Dext
4 votesHi Tracey! We're in the process of releasing a new feature via our Xero Accounting app that will enable you to upload as separate or a single document that can be processed with Smart Document capture once uploaded to your org. 😊
We expect to have this live to all users soon so I'll round back to confirm when it's out to 100%.

Reconciliation - Auto-match scanned receipts to bank transactions for easier reconciliation
Xero already scans invoices to create drafts, which is a huge time-saver.
Extending this capability to receipts would add even more value.
Specifically, if receipts sent to a Xero mailbox could be scanned and automatically matched to the right transaction, it would save significant manual effort, reduce errors, and streamline reconciliation. This small enhancement could have a big impact on efficiency for businesses handling large volumes of receipts.

Currently available to UK organisations we will be rolling this out globally to all other regions soon so I'll keep you updated here 😊

Files - Add delete button to file preview
In the Files area, there are some that you do not know of until you opened them, and upon seeing them, it's not needed for the business. You have to close the file, either select the checkbox then delete, or the option button on the right to delete. Can you add a Delete function upon opening the file so we don't have to click close just to delete unwanted files? Thank you!.
2 votesHi team, we appreciate the interest in improvements to the Files inbox. We are in the process of developing the inbox and improve efficiencies in how you manage and use uploaded files in Xero.
As part of this work we will be improving the preview of files so you can see this side by side within the files inbox, enabling you quickly select and delete a files without having to open and close the preview. I'll keep you updated of when this is live for you here.
