Many businesses only register for VAT after they have been trading for some time. When performing historical bookkeeping clean-ups, conversions, or rebuilding a client's accounting records, it is common to process transactions that occurred before the VAT registration effective date.

Currently, there is no simple way to separate these transactions within Cash Coding. This increases the risk of accidentally claiming VAT on transactions that occurred before the business became VAT registered.

Suggested Enhancement

Add an optional date range filter (or VAT registration date filter) within Cash Coding that allows users to:

Filter transactions occurring before the VAT registration date.
Process historical transactions without VAT being available to claim.
Easily switch to processing transactions from the VAT registration date onwards, where normal VAT coding applies.

Benefits

Reduces the risk of incorrect VAT claims.
Saves time when processing historical data and bookkeeping clean-ups.
Improves the conversion process for new Xero clients.
Assists accountants and bookkeepers working on historical corrections and migrations from other accounting systems.
Improves VAT compliance by ensuring transactions prior to VAT registration are not inadvertently processed with VAT.

This enhancement would be particularly valuable for accounting firms and bookkeepers who regularly onboard existing businesses with several years of historical transactions.

Still a very basic filter that should be there!

Wouold be very helpful to select date range for cash coding

We are require the Date filter under Cash coding option. also Please create a multiple Filter under cash coding field.
