  1. Lock dates - Ability to add password protection

    Dear Xero product team,

    Please could we have an option to Password protect Lock Dates.

    Where certain user can only unlok Lock dates i.e. Accountants or Subscriber

    At the moment anyone can unlock the Lock dates which defeats the purpose of the Lock Dates.

    Thank you for your engagement and feedback on this idea. We’ve seen some great suggestions in this thread on how a password-protected lock date could work. The current lock date feature prevents new transactions from being entered and can only be removed by Advisor level users, but we recognise that some users would benefit from introducing password protection.

    As part of our new Xero Product Idea process, we have recently reviewed the idea and shifted this to “Accepted”. This reflects that this is an idea we’d like to develop, but that this isn’t currently on the roadmap. We'll be back with another update as soon as we have more to share.

  2. Chart of Accounts - Ability to assign Foreign Currency to an account

    I would like to be able to have a foreign currency account in the COA other than bank accounts. If an invoice is received and paid in a foreign currency, it should show as the foreign currency as the source, not the base currency. This affects loan accounts a lot and if invoices are paid from a loan account, instead of a bank account, you can't keep the currency consistent.

    Thanks for support in this idea, everyone.

    We can see the benefit being able to associate a currency to an account could would have for customers in helping keep transactions consistent in their source currency.

    This isn’t currently on our roadmap, but it’s something our team will consider as they plan the future of multi-currency across Xero.

    We’ll keep an eye on the feedback here and make sure to share if there are any updates, with you all.
