Hi everyone, we appreciate your engagement with us about Just Ask Xero(JAX) and concerns shared on the data this model uses.
To confirm the LLMs are not trained using any Xero data. The AI behind JAX uses LLMs available from commercial vendors like Microsoft, Google and Amazon, (we have commercial agreements that prevent them from training their models with our customers data), as well as proprietary technology, JAX Assure, that works in concert to support accuracy and security.
JAX is currently in beta - Once your organisation is invited to opt-in to the beta, you can trigger the opt-in buy sending JAX a message in the pop-up window of your dashboard.
However, if you’re not interested in using JAX, don’t send a message, and the assistant won’t be activated. You can also dismiss the pop-up using the 'x' in the top right corner. You'll be prompted once more and can…

Agree. But Xero could take it one step further ......
After 7-years, I do not have to keep any transactions/clients for auditing purposes.
The ability to delete these is something that has been suggested before.
Why can't we have this as a feature instead of giving a **** new invoice layout????An error occurred while saving the comment Judy Roydhouse commented
I have been with Xero since 2015 and asked this way back then. Still nothing.
I would like to be able to delete everything that is over 7-years old which DOES NOT have to be kept for auditing purposes. Nup. Nothing.
Clearly do not want to invest in their platform for such simple things.

Come on Xero - show some sort of acknowledgement that this is an important feature that you need to rectify.

It sorta defeats the purpose of merging clients!!! You're still left with the client name with nothing in it!!!! Dumb. Not thought through very well at all. So totally agree that users should be able to delete ANY client/supplier if not required. Not keep for audit purposes as is Xero's most commonly used phrase.

Instead, we have new Bills feature. Why? More clicks needed than previously. Why fix something that is not broken? Being able to delete customers/suppliers is more of a priority in my opinion! Why can't they Xero add a delete button option with fair warnings! Can't use Firefox with Xero anymore .... Xero's answer ... use Chrome. Wasn't really the solution I was after. We also use WorkflowMax (owned by Xero) and there are delete buttons in there for everything - PERFECT!!!!!!!!!! Question again is why can't we have "DELETE" buttons in Xero????????????????

So. I have 240 archived suppliers/customers.
XERO have stated that there is no option for deleting any supplier or customer because of auditing purposes.
NZ law requires all accounting records to be held for a 7-year period.
Please XERO, having the capability to delete archived suppliers and/or customers after this period should be a choice for the Xero user.
We are all competent & intelligent users of this software. Perhaps give us the capability to delete suppliers or customers as required rather than having a software dictate what we can, and cannot do.An error occurred while saving the comment Judy Roydhouse commented
Ha. 2013 post. Typical of Xero to ignore.
I now have over 240 client/suppliers that have been archived.
In NZ, there is a legal requirement to keep all account records for a 7-year period.
After this time, if I was still using paper accounts, the 8th year would be disposed of.
For Xero to say that everything has to be kept for "audit purposes" and that they dictate what we keep and can't delete is somewhat insulting to anyone using Xero. We are intelligent people.
The option to delete a customer or supplier AFTER 7 years from last transaction entry is a sensible thing to implement.
What about it Xero? Instead of making us feel like we are incompetent to manage our own accounting. -

Thanks for your continued engagement with us through this idea, team. As mentioned in my last update this idea spans different areas that you see defaults automating and improving efficiencies in how you invoice with Xero.
Since my last update, we've released some keyboard shortcuts to help with navigation and entry in some areas of invoicing, and we delivered the ability to invoice to your contact groups within the new experience.
As mentioned while we don't have plans for changing the behaviour of the select options when sending an invoice, these are driven by your last selection, using web browser settings.
Recently, we made a slight change to the way defaults are applied when you copy and invoice for a contact. So, now when you copy and invoice to the same contact defaults from their contact will be applied to the draft invoice, which aligns with the way this worked…

Hi team, thanks for continuing to share and support in this idea.
While our team has continued to consider this idea since our last update, being upfront with you all here we want to share that this isn't in our current roadmap and unlikely to be developed in the near term.
For this reason, we'll move this to Not in pipeline however should anything change this we'll certainly share an update with you all here.

525 votesHi community, we appreciate the continued traction this idea's received, and do want to provide clarity and set expectation.
Your feedback has been valuable in understanding the needs of using description only lines to; add subheadings, provide context for grouped charges, and ensure your invoices are easy for your clients to read and understand.
To reconfirm, atm - You can add one-off description only lines as you enter an invoice. However, if you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you'll need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.
- We know some users have set up and saved inventory items for description only lines they commonly use, however as the item code field is used for inventory items the line of the invoice is treated as 'financial' meaning you'll then need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax…

Hi everyone, as another step toward improving history of new invoicing you'll find you'll now see an entry when an invoice is sent, and the email address it has been sent to.
We appreciate this is something we've heard a fair amount of feedback on and we hope helps in your journey to using new invoicing.
We still have more enhancements on the way for history and I'll be back again when more updates land.
