Hi community 👋
Thanks for sharing and supporting this idea - while I don't have an update specific to this idea, I thought you might be interested in the following:
Our AU Payroll team are testing some changes to Payroll reconciliation. The idea to create an AU payroll reporting pack is highly associated with payroll reconciliation and we feel that voters here would also have an interest in payroll reconciliation. They would love to hear from you!
They’re aiming to conduct some 1 on 1 interviews between 6 Feb - 16 Feb 2024, the interviews will last 45 minutes.
The purpose of the session: Participants will be asked to help with testing a prototype concept designed to enhance the AU payroll reconciliation process.
They aim to discover:

An error occurred while saving the comment Sandra Reed commentedOMG I inadvertently reported Celeste's comment and tried to cancel but red coloring made it hard to read and so confirmed instead of cancelling.
Sorry Celeste
An error occurred while saving the comment Sandra Reed commentedI logged a ticket with Xero 23Oct23 regarding the loss of COA descriptions on the Print PDF option and have been working with the Xero team to find a usable solution without any luck. Our business needs to provide a PDF COA (without financial YTD values) to our workers in Procurement, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Exporting to CSV to save to Excel to format for distribution is unwieldy and not an acceptable work around for function that was there in April 2023 and gone in October 2023.Sandra Reed supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Sandra Reed commentedYes. I just submitted case CX0012992654 for reporting period missing from Payroll Summary Details Report.
Just having the "as at date" does not make sense if you are not able to also include period being reported.
If you create this report for auditors in July or August and are not able to demonstrate that the reporting period is for 01 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 then the report fails the audit requirement.

Thanks for your feedback and interest in the idea here. We appreciate the desire for being able to enable employees to make these changes themselves.
While this is something the team will continually review as they keep developing Payroll for Australia, we want to be open that this is not in the direct plans atm.
If there are any changes or progress for developing this we'll be sure to come back and update you on this, here.

A standard Payroll report for earnings and deduction pay items that shows the following on a single line item per employee.
Can be run for all Pay Items (separated with totals for each pay item) or a Single Pay Item
Usually not run or Ordinary Time Earnings but rather for additional items added with single line entry for each employee
Employee Name + This Pay $ + Month to Date $ + Year to Date$
Can be run for all employees showing all names and dollars
or an individual.
Can be run Last Financial Year, This Financial Year or a date range.
Some examples where payroll would want the ability to run this report is for management of KM reimbursements after tax which has a cap applied by the ATO. Bonus payments to employees, Site Uplifts, Incentives, Overtime and so on.
