Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest surrounding this idea, however we want to be open that we're unable to extend our log-out time past 60 minutes. Xero hold a lot of sensitive information including bank data and we're required to be as secure as online banking.
Any session information running on a web browser can potentially be stolen. If the session does not time out. You then have an infinitely long vulnerability window to session hijacking. Our best option is to keep a tight expiration window on the session cookie, and regenerate them frequently. Even setting a long timeout doesn't help with this - too long a timeout will greatly increase the risk of invasion or potentially jeopardise your personal data and the safety and integrity of the Xero application itself. This is why we maintain control of this.
If we detect there's been no activity on a page (e.g…Christine W. supported this idea ·

Thanks for your interest and sharing your needs in being able to add a Contact to Manual journals you post in Xero. We know this is important for customers and enabling this capability is on our product team's roadmap.
Right now, they're currently focused on other important items of work, however as soon as we're able to dedicate resource to this I'll be back with a further update to share progress with everyone, here.

Thank you for your engagement on this idea. To help explain a little on how this works in the Account Transactions(AT) report - what shows in the Description field when running the report is dependent on the type of account you're running the report for.
For example, when running the AT report for a bank account, transactions will show the Contact name in the Description field. This is because the detail that is entered on each description line in the body of a transaction relates to the account the line item is coded to.
To see the detail, you'll need to run the report for the account code, not the bank account. This is also how the report works for some other accounts such as the system sales tax account, Account Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
If you're trying to find the account a bank transaction or system account line has…

Why is this not a feature? We're spending more time manually creating transfers, matching transfers, and reconciling transfers than actual other expenses. It's also easy to duplicate transfers since the Duplicate Statements Report seems to not include transfers? And Find & Match also cannot find transfers unless they have been created manually?
Other softwares make bank transfers very easy. They even have matching suggestions that find the transfer from both banks automatically, and is one click to approve (from an implementation perspective, I believe they just find matching amounts from two different banks on the same day give or take).
This is a downside of Xero if dealing with large numbers of bank accounts and credit cards.

At the very least, there should be an option to keep the bank description as-is within Bank Rules. Cash coding is a huge pain without it.

Please fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.
We need to be able to view full bank descriptions next to their coded account. Showing a reference / contact name instead of the actual description is a huge handicap on efficiency.
