Hi community, we appreciate the feedback we received from everyone that participated in the survey shared in my last update. This has really helped deepen our teams understanding of our customers needs in inventory.
As we develop and improve our customers experience when using inventory in Xero, we know that efficiency and being able to accurately track your inventory is important. I'm pleased to share that we're taking a closer look at enabling product bundling. As there is further news I'll bring you more updates, here. Thanks

483 votesThanks for all your feedback here, everyone. The way you add description only lines in new invoicing is a little different to classic and we wanted to explain in hopes it'll help with how you're using new invoicing.
When entering a description only line, you can enter text in the description field of the line. If you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you will need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.
When an inventory item is added this uses the item code field and the line is treated as 'financial', so it's not possible to use inventory items as description only lines in new invoicing atm.
We appreciate this is how many of you here have been making use of inventory and our product team are closely monitoring the feedback we're getting on this. Though we don't…Melanie Thompson

Hi community, thanks for getting involved here and letting us know the importance around being able to see the details whenever an invoice is sent from Xero. We understand the importance of this to our customers and our product team are beginning to review this idea to solve needs in this space. Hi everyone, understand the difference between a description only line and what's being asked for in the idea here.
This isn't something we have planned at present.
We do want to highlight the existing option for anyone interested that could benefit from the option mentioned earlier in the conversation (thanks, Paco)
Currently, it is possible to 'description' only lines to an invoice (with no Qty or Price) where you can enter up to 4000 characters worth of detail that could help you signal a note within an invoice to your customer.
We will continue to assess ideas in the forum here and let you know if there are any changes surrounding this to share.

Preferably add after the subtotal so it is not a line item as this shows up on the packing slip and there is no option to change the packing slip items.
