Thanks for signalling your interest and sharing with us through this idea, team.
We understand why you'd like a setting for defaults when you drill down through the Account Transactions report. This is something our reporting product team have taken a closer look at, however the solution isn't a simple change and we want to be upfront that at this stage we don't have any plans for. We will share if there are any updates here.

Hi Donald, I've updated the title of your idea to make this simpler for others that are interested to find.
Though we don't have a report that'll show the payment method atm, you could run the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail reports to view much of this information.
Once you've customised the report as you like, you can save as Custom to easily access that view anytime.

I need to supply an external application the payments that we have received so they can be marked off in that app - they need payment date, invoice number, amount paid, contact name.
The Receivable Invoice Detail report won't quite do it - it can't be run by paid date and it doesn't include the invoice number as a column to be selected.
The Receivable Invoice Summary report also is almost there, but it can't be run by paid date, and the amount paid is a cumulative total. I need a list of payments when partial payments are made against an invoice.
And a unique payment id would be great too.Jane Stergio supported this idea ·

I also would like to see the invoice status on the account transaction report - so I can see paid vs not paid.

Thanks for your passion and the detailed feedback on this idea, community. We can see how much time is spent manually consolidating tracking category budgets, and why having this roll-up automatically would make a big difference.
As noted by others in the thread, one option for now is to use a third-party app from the Xero App Store. Some in the community have mentioned tools like Spotlight Reporting or Budget Consolidator are great for this, and it’s a good way to get the insights you’re after.
While we understand the value this feature would add, it isn't on our immediate roadmap to build right now. We know that's not the news you're hoping for, but we want to be transparent about what's in our current focus - You can get a view of some of the changes coming in the next quarter through our website, The Long and Short of…

Hey everyone, thanks for all the votes and feedback on this idea! Our product teams have definitely taken note and understand the effort involved in automatic report generation and sending.
While it's something we see as valuable in the long run, it's not currently on our development roadmap with a specific timeframe. We're still keen to hear from those of you who would find this feature helpful, so please keep the conversation and votes coming. We'll be sure to update you if our plans change.

There should be an option to export any reports as csv where there is an option to export as Excel.
If the data being exported is to be imported into another system which requires csv, having to edit the file each time is time consuming and unnecessary.
